Drove north to Portland from Mt. Shasta

It's pretty easy to get to Portland from Mt. Shasta because it's straight up Interstate 5 from there and Interstate 5 exits right into the little City of Mt. Shasta. So, you just get on the freeway and head north on Interstate 5 until you get to Portland, Oregon. No difficult maps or directions needed until you get near to your destination.

It was snowing some when we left Mt. Shasta and we took some mystical pictures of the mountain yesterday morning when we drove north to Portland, Oregon to see 2 of our children who live there who are adults.

It was also snowing over the Siskiyou Summit at around 4300 feet on Interstate 5 which I believe is the highest elevation just before you enter Ashland, Oregon after crossing the California-Oregon Border on Interstate 5.

The snow wasn't sticking in fact the moisture was evaporating and steaming off the ground as we went over the 4300 foot pass which was interesting to see  too.

It was mostly cloudy heading north and a few sprinkles here and there too but mostly uneventful other than seeing birds and beautiful greenery of trees and bushes and mountains and plants along the way.

I drove as far north as Grants Pass and then my wife decided to drive the rest of the way so I was sort of surprised. But, she likes the idea of feeling like she is in control because she had 3 degrees including a Master's degree in Business. So, as long as she doesn't overdo her point of view is okay with me.

It's interesting how strong of personalities we both are but we don't usually butt heads much simply because we are both very practical people and didn't meet until I was 46 and she was I think 39 then but now I'm 73 so we have been together for a long time now. But, we are also complements to each other so we aren't competitive to each other because we have complimentary but completely different life skills so this works out very well for us.

So, we arrived Portland before sunset and we very happy to get there without much fuss and relatively smoothly.
