One could say that China might fare better than the western nations simply because they are regimented because people don't have the freedom to say no there like they do in democracies. However, if this gets much worse now China's government likely will collapse from unrest too because they have about 150 insurrections a year involving over 150 people or more per insurrection across China that his hidden from the news right now where people are irate and upset about various things around China. So, if the virus goes out of control from the variants in India (which is likely in areas bordering India) than all bets are off for China.
I'm thinking that if it progresses like this ongoing that the U.S. will fare the best for a variety of reasons, next Europe will fare fairly well too and places like Canada and Australia and New Zealand all will fare pretty well.
The rest of the world almost anything can and will happen including governments collapsing one by one. Over the next 5 years if coronavirus doesn't end I fully expect around 1/2 of the governments on earth to collapse mostly in poorer nations causing mass migrations that we have never seen before in recorded history of desperate people trying to survive any way that they can worldwide.
