I was reading a post from I believe 2007 called enrichment about a dream I had then which is always interesting. One of the reasons I like to write is that I can understand myself in many different ways. As I grow older I change somewhat over time so reading something you wrote 10, 20, 30 or 40 years ago is always interesting. The problems you were solving 40 years ago are usually not the same problems you are solving now in your life.
For example, in 1980 I was 32 years old married to my 2nd wife and was raising my son from my first marriage and her two kids from her first marriage too. So, the problems I was facing then were mainly financially covering everyone and my health was Great still. But, by 1998 when I had my heart virus and doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me to the point where they realized I might die I wasn't then dealing with financially covering everything like I was in 1980. By 1995 to 1998 we had moved into a much more successful life so finances weren't the problem that they were when I was supporting 3 children in 1980 when I had first married my 2nd wife. By 1995 I had remarried and in 1996 a daughter was born who is now 25 years old and living in Portland as is my son.
So, reading what you have written at different times in your life is sort of like meeting many versions of yourself along the way which can be very interesting and enlightening as well.
Most of what I have kept of my writings
is from 1980 to the present whether in printouts or online at websites or usually both. It's always good to have a printout of whatever you write simply because all you need is a Solar plasma storm on the sun and all your hard drives won't work any more if the solar ejection actually hits the earth. So, if you care about what you write at all it's good to have a backup for it somewhere where you live or work on paper. But, best of all would be a printout on paper that you keep at home or in a safe somewhere. There are only two things that would survive a solar storm that hits earth that is as big as the Carrington event of 1859. One of them is a DVD and the other is a printout because ALL magnetic media within 10 feet of the surface of the earth would likely be gone unless under 10 feet deep in a cement or dirt bunker somewhere.
Although it's also likely that all jet passenger planes in the air would likely all crash if they were on the side of the planet where the solar flare hit if it was strong enough and all electric cars and hybrids would also stop working maybe permanently until parts that were fried by the solar flare could be replaced by parts that weren't hit on the other side of the planet. So, theoretically it could be months before electric cars or hybrids worked again. Even in regular cars the digital circuit boards might also fry to where only cars built before 1970 would actually work before they changed points in cars to digital chips instead.
However, the military wires most vehicles for land, sea and air with wiring that doesn't get corrupted by Solar or Nuclear Blasts in an EMP
