Can you survive your life today?
Often people get so into all the details of their lives that they forget to survive that day and then they are gone.
Why did almost 1000 or more people die in a recent heat wave in the Pacific Northwest?
Because they weren't paying attention to what was actually happening that day in their lives enough.
They were like lobsters who were then put into a pan of cold water and who slowly were cooked to death that day. There was no time for them when they felt like they were going to die maybe or by the time they realized their mistake it was just too late for them to survive.
For example, it might have been as simple as simply filling their bath tub with cold water and getting into it to have survived that particular day instead of being found later dead by friends and relatives with the TV on or something like that.
The world the way it is right now is changing. That same heat wave that killed around 1000 people in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and Canada also killed around 1 billion sea animals along the coast there as well. So, in some ways you have to put the people who died in the same category as the 1 billion sea animals who also died. They all were like the lobster who after he was put into the cold water as it slowly raised to boiling where there was no one moment when he thought it was hot enough to jump out.
So, the sea animals and all those people died because they didn't realize they were dying that day and didn't move to colder places (like an ice water bath tub) if they didn't have air conditioning.
It's the big stuff that will kill you not just the details. The big stuff will kill you much more certainly than the smaller details of your lives. So, when things change suddenly you have to be aware enough to catch that you are in danger in order to stay alive through those dangers.
