Back to the high fog along the coast

After two days of sunny weather it looks like another day of high fog. On one level it is better than the often 100 degrees or more inland various places but it also means highs don't go beyond 65 or 70 during the day. The lows now are between 57 and 59 degrees which are typical for this time of year at this point. I was amazed at 54 degree lows about a week or two ago which was very unusual though.

I went to the beach with my son and his family and my youngest daughter yesterday and it was wonderful to be there during the week when there tend to be less people there even in the summer. My son was amazed how there were no parking places most places along the beach though. But, for me, this makes sense because we are in August which is the last big tourist month before kids go back to school. California tends to start classes more in late August or September which is later than a lot of states. I remember starting 1st through high school in late September or even early October some years here in California because like I said they tend to start schools later here than some states do.
