Enlightenment

I was speaking with my youngest daughter today about logic, reason, and intuition.

As I thought more about it the key to enlightenment is logic, reason, common sense and intuition.

I have met many geniuses in my lifetime and often if they don't have common sense they soon self destruct either physically or mentally one or the other or both.

The most important thing to have in life is likely common sense. You don't have to be a genius to survive to an old age you just need common sense.

Einstein once said, "Genius isn't very useful if you don't have common sense first".

Like I said above if you don't have common sense often genius is only a ticket to self destructiveness.

I watched my father who was valedictorian of his senior high school Class in 1934 in Seattle and I would say my father was a genius in many ways. His family (brothers and sisters and parents) always thought a lot of him because of his many achievements. But, his father wouldn't let him go to college and made him instead become and electrician even though his two sisters were allowed to go to college and meet college men and one sister married a college graduate who was a Naval Blimp sub chasing officer in World War II.

What I want to say about enlightenment is that there are many forms of enlightenment that suit all types of people. It's sort of like enlightenment is as wide as the subjects of medicine, mathematics, physical fitness, Diet, and it extends into literally any endeavor people try to get into.

The more enlightened you tend to be the more likely you will succeed at whatever you do.

But, if you aren't also kind to yourself and others first whatever you do doesn't matter at all in the end.

So, Good Luck at your enlightenment in this lifetime.
