Healing yourself through writing can be very useful if you understand psychology and yourself enough.
Often when you need someone to talk to about certain things in life they aren't there. At least people you could actually trust with the truth aren't there. So, writing down your thoughts is a way to have a conversation between your present self and your later self who then reads what you write so you get more than one point of view because in some ways each of us are different every day or moment in our lives and we are always learning.
So, whether you save what you write or burn it or throw it away or whatever you do with it often it can be helpful to your long term survival to figure out what you need to know about yourself and your life.
