After the horrors of World War II and the Great Depression the Iron Curtain began in Berlin with the building of the wall in 1961

Before this happened General MacArthur won the war for at least South Korea and wanted to drive the U.S. Army all the way to Beijing, China and take over China. However, the U.S. government didn't want him to do that and removed him from his Generalship of command of U.S. armed forces in Korea.

I think not invading China was actually a good idea simply because China has always been ungovernable even for locals for thousands of years already and we were already rebuilding Japan and Europe by loaning everyone money after World War II because the U.S. was the only large nation that hadn't been invaded that was a first world nation at that time on earth. So, the richest the average person in the U.S. as far as general buying power was between 1950 and 1970 when the average person was very rich compared to now.

For example, a white male at age 17 could get a job as a carpenter or Garbage man and afford to buy a house, a car, and get married and support up to 5 people then in the 1960s. This is no longer true.

However, it still might be true to buy some remote land, and put a motor home or Trailer on it and then build your own house over time even if you are presently 17 to 20 years old here in the U.S. This is what I did starting at age 32 up on Mt. Shasta at 4000 feet with a spring on the land on 2 1/2 acres where it might snow then up to 7 feet at a time there on my property. However, it doesn't snow that much anymore because of Global Warming.
