Because Omicron has risen 377% in China now and China is a complete death place along with Hong Kong. In Hong Kong dead bodies from Covid are left in hospital rooms in body bags next to living Covid patients because there is no room in the morgues for more bodies. But, all this is because people in China have absolutely no immunity to any covid Variation like people in Europe and the U.S. tend to now have at least some immunity to each new strain.
In UK Covid Cases (most likely BA.2) are up 56% as of last night there.
This is why doctors expect it to be really bad here in the U.S. especially because of people dropping the mask mandates too soon. So, if you wear a mask just because no one else is be prepared for a lot of BA.2 Cases around you which is 30% more contagious than BA.1 Omicron.
So, even if you are the ONLY one wearing a mask that might prevent you from getting it and being hospitalized or worse.
I noticed when I traveled to Mt. Shasta out in the country and anywhere north of San Francisco that basically only 1 person in a 100 was wearing a mask now anywhere.
This is why BA.2 could easily devastate the U.S. next just like it's hitting the UK (England) now.
