Chief Seattle

Chief Seattle was born in 1786 and was a leader to the Suquamish and Duwamish people in Washington State. He is known for his attempts to form friendly relations with the white settlers in the Pacific Northwest, and as is such, the city of Seattle was named after him. This photo was taken in 1864.
