I find the high and low fog sort of depressing but it's better maybe than being in 110 degrees or more other places, especially where the Oak fire is near Yosemite and Mariposa where houses are burning down.
Even if your house isn't burning down if you are downwind of a fire like that often you cannot breathe unless the smoke goes high enough where you can. I have had to leave Mt. Shasta during fires since I don't live there anymore to breathe on several occasions already. I can deal with the altitude but not if I have to breathe smoke too because I now live at Sea Level instead of living all the time at 3500 feet or more in altitude like I did most of the 1980s.
I suppose if I stayed at 3500 feet or more for a month or more I would then be adapted once again to that altitude and then I might survive breathing the smoke from nearby fires too then.
