When people tell me they don't have any regrets in their lives it is hard for me to believe them

  However, what I have noticed is that there are almost always consequences (sooner or later) for anything you do tend to regret doing in your life. 

This much is clear to me. So, the idea of: "What goes Around comes around" or Karma or "As ye sow so shall ye reap" are all important things to know about life.

In life we all make many mistakes along the way mostly because we don't know any better at the time. So, in hindsight it is always true that we often wish we did something else.

However, even things we regret doing brought us to exactly where we are now. So, in some ways we couldn't be the people we are without those mistakes too.

So, though I might regret many things in my own life, the good things I did more than made up for anything I regret doing and so my life has mostly been a life well lived with many amazing people and adventures along the way worldwide.

So, though I might regret some things I did or said to people along the way, I also know that I couldn't likely have the great life I do now without all those things happening to me along the way.

Each moment we could go down a different timeline than the one we are presently on. However, if your heart is good you tend to make the best decisions (in general) that your good heart can muster along the way.
