Insurance companies leaving Florida, Texas and California and other states

 Why?

In Florida and Texas it's because of hurricanes. They cannot cover hurricanes in those states and still stay in business as insurance companies.

In California it's forest Fires and Grass Fires coming into heavily populated areas. Same result.

So, for example, a friend of mine in California here in Mt. Shasta had to wait 5 years in order to get California state funded fire insurance and we had a similar experience regarding our house in Santa Barbara, California.

So, if you live where there are Forest Fires (like in California) or Hurricanes (like in Florida and Texas) don't expect to have flood or fire insurance any time soon. So, when something happens to your home you likely will be on your own more from now on nationwide.

This is because of global climate changes.

For example, with every year it becomes more likely that a 100 foot  Tidal wave caused by an earthquake will sweep all the way over Florida from ocean to ocean East to west taking out most everything in Florida.

I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before something like this happens.

The same thing could also happen in the Pacific ocean taking out parts of California, Oregon and Washington and other lands adjoining the Pacific ocean. This is one reason why when we bought our home on the San Francisco Area coast I wanted it to be at least 200 or more feet above sea level there at the coast so it wouldn't be washed away one day.
