Difficult situation in Portland with Homeless people and elderly likely dying from the cold and power outage

Anyone that is all electric in Portland all the way down to Eugene Oregon is in a very bad fix right now. Even in my son's all electric home he has a fireplace but wasn't able to buy wood and roads were dangerous and basically impassable from ice and snow and being very slippery there in Portland. Power is out all over Portland and into Clark County and down as far as Eugene Oregon which seems sort of impossible but true. Temperatures like 17 degrees this morning are breaking pipes in Northern Oregon too because they are not prepared for temperatures like this there. So, the homeless and the elderly are in danger of dying in this a lot by freezing to death during this time.

Big Trees are down all over because of extreme winds mixed with extreme cold and snow and Ice. So, it is a miserable place in a lot of Northern Oregon right now for people with no power. It says something about having a wood stove or fireplace to survive times like these when power goes out at such low temperatures where survival is iffy at best for many people.
