Yesterday I noticed that the sun was occluded for the first time in awhile at the coast. You could drive in the sun until you were maybe a few blocks from the ocean. This is the sunniest time of the year usually from late August until it rains usually sometime for the first time in October or November any given year.
However, today the deck is wet with the moisture from the fog and it is completely overcast here on the northern California Coast near San Francisco. It's also only 55 degrees with a low last night it said of 54 low so also pretty cold for summer too. Lows have been as high as 60 degrees in the last few weeks too with highs up to about 80 or beyond with full sun. Today Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday and Saturday are supposed to be foggy and overcast which means it must be pretty hot inland to do this this time of the year.
Yes I checked inland at a place called Santa Nella where The Pacheco Pass meets Interstate 5 basically it's supposed to be 101 today. So, this is what is making all the fog here today and later this week which is unusual for this late in August.
