Over
nearly six decades, the Camaro evolved through six distinct
generations, serving as an icon of American muscle and a fierce track
competitor:
1st Generation (1967–1969)
Born
into the heart of the muscle car wars, the original Camaro was built on
the rear-wheel-drive F-body platform. It offered over 80 factory
options, including the iconic Z/28 package initially designed for
Trans-Am racing. The 1969 model remains one of the most highly
sought-after muscle cars in automotive history
2nd Generation (1970–1981)
Debuting
in 1970, this generation featured a longer, sleeker, European-inspired
design. While it started with high-performance engines, the 1970s energy
crisis and stricter emissions regulations eventually choked out
horsepower, shifting the focus toward luxury and handling.
3rd Generation (1982–1992)
4th Generation (1993–2002)
5th Generation (2010–2015)
6th Generation (2016–2024)
