This movie if you like climbing mountains or if you have ever been to Nepal and Seen Mt. Everest in person which I did in 1985 and 1986 when I was there in India and Nepal from December of 1985 to April of 1986.
But, I found the depiction of Tibetans and Nepalis very realistic from everything I saw in Nepal and when I met Tibetan Refugees in Bodhgaya, India and Dharamshala, India. The Dalai Lama who ruled Tibet before the Chinese drove him out of Tibet March 31st 1959 when he made is safely to India. However, many Tibetans traveling with him died on the way to India.
Tenzing(2026) is a lovely very well done movie and worth seeing especially if you like climbing mountains like I always have or are a rock or ice climber. I was never an ice climber because that is pretty dangerous or can be but I was a rock climber especially in Yosemite National Park, Castle Craggs near Mt. Shasta and Idylwild, California on Mt. San Jacinto at Tahquitz Rock.
Many of you living in Southern California might not know about Tahquitz Rock in Idylwild, California so I'm sharing this with you. There was a route called then White Maiden's Walkway which my climbing partner and I like Climbing around 1969 then.
regarding Ice climbing: I suppose if you are roped in from the top that ice climbing would be less likely to injure or kill you. In some ways I look at ice Climbing more like Free Climbing than anything else unless you are roped in from the top. It' would be much more survivable if you are roped in from the top of the ice Climb.
