Climate change part of worldwide recession problem
A couple of years ago when Gasoline was $4.50 to $5.00 a gallon in California something else was going on in Australia and other places: drought. So as easily accessible oil becomes rarer and rarer we were also hit with amazing droughts in Australia and many other places on earth. As I see it the droughts in Australia and other places and the price of oil because if the difficulty of easily accessible oil were the two main triggers of this present recession. Yes. We can blame AIG or people who designed subprime loans but that would be just to easy. To actually be realistic we have to look at the Australian drought. It took us into food shortages two years ago. For years we grew in any one year worldwide about 120% to 130% of worldwide needs. In other words we had a surplus. Then suddenly in one year we barely grew 100% of basic needs on the planet which created wheat, corn, rice, lentil and other grain shortages worldwide especially in 2nd and 3rd world nations and created a starvation cycle in those nations that we hadn't seen for about 25 years. In other words I think the real culprit of this present recession is scarce food and scarce oil. All other effects are secondary. It is easy to blame people it is much harder and much scarier to realize that this recession is an Act of God-- an accident and freak of nature. And believe me nature is sure to get freakier by the day the way people are using resources on earth at this point.
