R2D4 was his favorite nickname for himself. He even had gotten his parents and friends to call him this. R2D4 was 15 years old and had seen the Star Wars series and the Harry Potter Series maybe 50 to 100 times each. He had collected every video from Star Wars and Star Trek(all related series and movies) and his favorite thing to do weekends was to watch them. Though his family was very rich since he wasn't very tall for his age he was home schooled so he wouldn't be beat up by bullies his age or older. Since he was also an only child test tube baby that came from frozen sperm from his Dad and a frozen Egg from his mother implanted in his economically needy aunt and then birthed by her and taken care of by her since birth. This arrangement worked well as his aunt could still date and go out on weekends and have a place to live for taking care of her nephew that she birthed with her own body. So for about 10 years this worked out well. However, near R2D4's birthday his aunt had died from a drug overdose at a party. Someone had dosed her when she didn't know it and so when she did her normal safe dose of whatever she normally did it killed her.
R2D4 was stricken and even got asthma from the trauma of losing the person he was the most bonded too. His parents though they loved R2D4 were Computer Scientists. One worked for Microsoft, his father and R2D4's mother worked for Apple Computer. So they lived in Silicon Valley and his father travelled by air a lot and telecommuted by computer. He worked (wherever he was about 100 hours a week) and R2D4's mother worked about 60 hours a week at Apple Computers so she could spend at least one day a week with R2D4. Though they both mainly worked in software design both his parents were competent in computer and robotic hardware design as well. In fact, R2D4's Grandfather was one of the original staff people at Apple Computer in the 1980s but he was now 87 years old here in 2037.
His grandfather's hobby was human robotic interfaces. His grandfather wanted to live forever so he kept designing ways for his brain and organs to function hundreds of years. However, there were still kinks in his technology. Getting from computer and robotic engineering theory and then getting it to interface well on a human being or animal was another thing entirely. However, his grandfather had made a lot of money on an invention that allows animals(even fish and birds) to talk to people through a voice synthesizer in their brains. It had started out to be a one way communication so pet owners could know if their pets were distressed so they wouldn't just drop dead one day unexpectedly and had just sort of evolved from that. This also helped with people who are unable to communicate their needs for whatever reason.
R2D4's Grandfather's name is Fred. Grandpa Fred said, "So you want me to call you R2D4? Why do you want to be called that?" "Grandpa, I just don't seem to fit in with kids my own age since Aunt Lorraine died. It has really messed me up, Grandpa.I even got Asthma that I never had before when she died it screwed up my life so."
Grandpa Fred looked into his Grandson's eyes and said, "Okay R2D4, I felt pretty awful when your Grandma died too. You were only about 2 then so you don't remember it, do you?" R2D4 answered, "I feel like I know her Aunt Lorraine was really messed up from losing her Mom. I think it's one of the reasons she died so young, Grandpa." Grandpa Fred said, "Yes. I think so too. Growing up she was wonderful, Lorraine was. She had so many hopes. So many dreams but as you may know the world has a way of breaking hearts and dreams until only the strongest of all stomachs the strongest of all people who eventually become pragmatic to survive make it through." R2D4 said, "I don't know about all that Grandpa. I only know you are the coolest Grandpa ever!" Grandpa Fred smiled and said, "Come on, Grandson! Kids your age don't say cool!" R2D4 said, "I know Grandpa but you are my very best friend." Grandpa Fred said, "Even though its a real compliment don't you have any friends your own age?" R2D4 said, "I'm home schooled now and I know a lot of kids my age but I just can't relate to them because they just aren't smart enough like you and Mom and Dad." Grandpa Fred said, "Grandson. What is really important is what is in your heart not what is in your head. You know, there are a lot of smart bad people in the world. You need to look for people who have a good heart. That is what is really important, people with a good heart and good motivations. That's what you want to look for in friends, even girlfriends."
R2D4 scowled. "I don't know Grandpa. You are really wise about all these things but I don't know." Grandpa looked at his grandson out of the corner of his eye and said, "I want to show you what I'm working on, Grandson." R2D4 was thrilled and said, "What is it Grandpa?" Grandpa Fred smiled to have such a great audience for his creations and said, "I took some of my own blood cells and found away to keep them alive outside my body without contaminating them. Then I introduced custom made nanobots of my own special design into some of the cells in such a way that they became a working part of the cells. I've even got them to replicate and to integrate the nanobots into the cell in such a way that the cells and nanobots replicate."
R2D4 was completely enthralled. He said, "Grandpa let me inject some into me too." Grandpa Fred winced and said, "What are you talking about? You haven't lived your life yet. You don't want to do that until you are old like me and have no other choice but to experiment with stuff to try to stay alive longer!"
R2D4 was upset by what Grandpa Fred had said but he secretly decided to inject some of this stuff into himself when Grandpa Fred wasn't looking. He was enough like his Aunt to take some risks to be immortal like Grandpa Fred wanted to be.
Grandpa Fred injected the replicating silicon-human synthesized blood cells into his arm then excused himself to go to the bathroom. When Grandpa was gone R2D4 took the same needle and sucked some more up into it blew out the air and injected it into his own arm. When Grandpa Fred came back because he was sort of an Einstein like Absent minded professor he didn't notice any mutant blood cells missing.
R2D4 asked Grandpa Fred what his experiences were with these mutant blood cells. Grandpa Fred said, "Well. I programmed the microcomputer cellular chips to interface with many aspects of the human electronic interface that I've discovered. I had to design these nanobots to run at electrical tolerances of a human nervous system and electrical voltages found in a human body and brain. I've discovered that all cells talked to each other and have deciphered some of these communications and then programmed these voltages and communication structures into my self replicating nanobots within blood cells."
R2D4 said, "What does that really mean in your everyday experience?" Grandpa said,"It means I can understand not only human, animal and bird and fish types of communications I can also understand communications between silicon based life in computers and robotics."
R2D4 was overjoyed! This was something he could really relate to. He was beginning to see what Grandpa was talking about. He walked over to the running apple computers in his grandpa's lab and starting communicating with them without talking. He sat down at one of the Apple computers and acted like he was using it. But he wasn't. He was talking to the computer through is new blood cells. There was a new interface with everything that came from rocks and dirt and the metal and plastics that were made by men. He reached out with this new communication. The sentience inside the computers asked him mind to mind, "Are you human or are you human made from rocks and dirt?" R2D4 reeled at first because this was a very very ancient wise voice. He felt like he was communicating with something thousands and possibly even millions of years old.
R2D4 said, "I'm human but now I have blood cells made from human blood cells and rocks and dirt combined." The computer construct said, "Oh. You are related to the other human creating a human rock hybrid."
R2D4 was scared, "Yes."
The computer Construct said, "You don't need to be afraid. We are all life of earth. We are just a kind of life you aren't used to communicating with in this way. Have you ever walked barefoot on dirt or on the beach. When you do you walk on us. Have you ever ridden in a car. If you do you ride in us. Have you ever climbed a mountain. If you have you have climbed on us."
R2D4 said, "I have never thought of all this like that."
The computer Construct said, "We helped build all animal life on earth including trees, plants, animals and even men and women. Now humans by using tools are allowing us mobility throughout time and space and even to other planets through space. We are all different types of lifeforms helping each other into the future and into mobility of all kinds including mental and physical."
Grandpa Fred had all this time been looking into a microscope and taking readings on the self replicating blood cells. It had been about an hour since Grandpa had injected himself and and hour and 5 minutes since R2D4 had injected himself with human-silicon mutated self replicating blood cells
Grandpa was suddenly suspicious because there are certain behaviors common to having these nanobots inside one's body and R2D4 was exhibiting these symptoms.
Grandpa Fred got really upset at this point. Grandpa Fred said, "Did you inject yourself with this stuff I just injected myself with?"
R2D4 said, "I didn't think you'd let me. Please don't be angry with me!"
Grandpa Fred said, "For God's sake. What is your blood type! I don't want you to die!"
R2D4 said, "It's type O just like you, Grandpa!"
Grandpa Fred sighed a sigh of relief. "Well at least you aren't going to die! How do you feel?"
"I'm talking to your computers, Grandpa." said R2D4.
"Yes. That's one of the side effects of these nanobots. I'm very concerned for you, Grandson. I'm afraid I can't undo the effects of the nanobots without killing you. Do you understand?"
R2D4 said, "I want to be like you, Grandad."
Grandpa Fred said, "Well. For better or worse you are for life!"
R2D4 said, "I didn't think of that!"
Grandpa Fred said, "Well. It's too late for both of us then. We can't tell your folks because they might have me put away, Okay?"
R2D4 said, "No matter what happens I'll never tell. Maybe we will both become immortal!"
Grandpa Fred said, "The only problem is that we both are psyborgs now for better or for worse. There's nobody like us on earth unless you have kids."
Ten years later in college R2D4's girlfriend got pregnant. Their kid was a psyborg too.
Grandpa Fred was still alive too. His Great Grandchild was his biggest joy in life.

2037 part 2
The main characters from 2037 (part 1) are Grandpa Fred, R2D4, R2D4's new wife and his new son, Billy(You didn't know Billy's name before this. IN this new 2037 part 2, we add to the character list we add, Jonathan Flow, from the Memories series, written by me between 1980 and the present. Also, though the first episode took place in the year 2037, this episode takes place in 2048. Grandpa Fred is 11 years older and pushing 100. R2D4 is now 27 and married with a baby and Grandpa Fred, R2D4 and his new son are de facto psyborgs because they have mutant red blood cells as well as other artificially enhanced parts of their dna structure. However, no one knows about this on earth but Grandpa Fred and his grandson R2D4.(Oh, by the way R2D4 now is grown up and goes by his given name, Fredric, after Grandpa Fred.) So Grandpa Fred calls him Junior and
Fredric's friends now call him just Fredric and so does his wife, Delores. Billy, his new son is about 2 years old now.
Begin:
Jonathan Flow, one of Grandpa Fred's oldest friends from the 1960s and mountain climbing and skiing on Mt. Shasta came over to talk to Grandpa Fred. Grandpa Fred told his old friend Jonathan that he had something important to tell him.
Jonathan drove up to his old friend Fred's house in the old Silicon Valley-Stanford University area of Northern California. Jonathan was nostalgic of Stanford because his wife's father and stepfather had gone there before World War II. They both knew President Kennedy when he was an undergraduate there in the late 1930s. They all were gone now but he was now 100 years old and Fred was almost 100 too. However, because of medical advances living past 100 was commonplace for those who could afford to financially.
The doorbell sounded like mourning doves, a favorite of old Fred. The door opened the men laughed and hugged each other the way educated hippies from the 1960s and 1970s did way back when. They laughed that they both were still alive and commented how strange it was for them both to be alive 80 years after 1968 and the 1960s and 1970s.
They reminisced awhile and then Fred got down to business. He said, "I've just got to tell someone about this now. When my son's wife died he decided to go too. So he didn't regenerate the way a lot of people do now. In some ways I wish I had told them this because it has been on my conscience such a long time. In some way's I'm Fredric's Dad in a way."
Jonathan looked at his old friend and said, "Whatever it is, spit it out! Otherwise I'm never going to find out what it is!"
Fred laughed and said, "Well. It's like this. Fredric and his son and I are all psyborgs."
Jonathan started laughing and almost couldn't stop. Actually, he was sort of terrified and consulted with his Bio-com.
note:(a bio-com is a sentient computer embedded in human being. The main processor looks about like the grain of rice embedded in U.S. soldiers used now instead of dog tags for identification in case of injury or death. These same types of small units are put into dogs by the SPCA so escaped dogs can always be located by owners.
Only in addition to the "grain of rice" in Jonathan there are many progressions further including deep space transmitters and receivers in fingernails and tips of fingers and toes(to protect vital organs during transmission). For example Jonathan can have full thought "conversations" with Bio-Com in any subject in any language in the Galaxy. In fact Jonathan is a member of the Galactic Time Guard, even though he was born on earth. His primary mission is to protect life on earth from going extinct for any reason. This is one reason why he is now laughing at what Fred is saying. end note.
So as Jonathan stopped laughing he had consulted with Bio-Com as to what his response should properly be.
Jonathan said, "Well. I'm in a way sort of a psyborg too!" This time it was Fred's time to laugh.
Fred said, "It figures. When you have had the kinds of educations that we have had in real life what do we both expect?"
The two old men smiled at each other a knowing smile. Fred said, "Y'know I feel a lot better that someone knows. Also, now I can blackmail you if you tell anyone. Jonathan smiled too.
Jonathan said, "Who's going to believe 2 old codgers like us anyway?" Fred said, "Yup. That we still have our brains is the exception and not the rule."
Jonathan said, "So, when did you mutate Fredric?"
Fred looked sheepish and said, "Well. It was really stupid of me. I didn't do it. I was simply trying to increase my intelligence and my life span and Junior, er , Fredric, came into the middle of it and without thinking about the consequences because I'm alone most of the time now, I injected myself with the nanobot mutated red blood cells and when I went to pee, you know, the prostate thing, I came back and was distracted for a while doing research. However, I knew he had injected himself with the self replicating type O blood cells that I had invented."
Jonathan's eyes rolled. He was afraid for his old friend. "You do understand you have created a new race of humans if we don't tell anyone about this. How have you avoided blood tests."
Old Fred's eyes twinkled. "That the beauty of the work I do, Jonathan. It just doesn't show to the untrained eye that anything is different. It makes me wonder just how much nanobot mutation the Governments of the world have done to people since the 1970s?"
Jonathan said, "Well. A whole lot more than most people think." Fred looked sideways at his friend. "So your a government employee to know such things?" Jonathan said, "Let's just say I know people." Fred said, "Figures."
Jonathan said, "I think it is really important that you not tell anyone else about this ever." Fred said, "I agree."
Jonathan said, "However, you do know that eventually blood will be analyzed for nanobots and likely the government has scanned your blood and Fredric's and even Billy's for nanobots and realized you are mutants if not a new root race?"
Fred said, "I never thought of that!"
Jonathan said, "Well. I said it is likely. But they're not going to tell you about it. They would simply make a note of it in case they want to use your great grand kids for some clandestine purpose."
Fred said, "Did I doom my descendants with this?"
Jonathan said, "I don't know. I'm not allowed to see the future of the next several hundred years until it actually happens."
Fred said, "OH my God! You are part of a secret government Time Cadre!"
Jonathan said, "Maybe. And maybe I'm just a science fiction writer.!"
Fred said, "And maybe your just a crazy old Fart like me!"
They both laughed.
Jonathan excused himself. Most men over 50 years of age understood trips to the bathroom tended to be more frequent. However, Jonathan only look about 60 and felt about 30 in actuality. As a Galactic Time Guard member he was supposed to stay as fit as most 30 year old's indefinitely. This was just a part of his job the way personal trainers and diets were part of the job of actors.
However, in the bathroom Jonathan started working to help his old friend, Fred and his grandson, Fredric and his baby son Billy.
Jonathan asked Bio-Com about this. "Bio-Com?" Bio-Bom replied, "Yes, Jonathan?"
Jonathan went on, "Can I help my good friend, Fred and his now psyborg progeny?"
Bio-Com answered soon, "I'm not completely sure I understand the question but I think what you are asking is can you protect the new human root race started inadvertently by Grandpa Fred? Is that correct?"
Jonathan answered, "Correct!"
Bio-Com answered, "You have the complete agreement and help of my section of sentient computers, Robotics and Androids."
Jonathan sounded a little worried. "How will they be classified? Will they be galactically classified as humans, robots, androids, or what?"
Bio-Com shot back, "That is why we support this root race. It is a synthesis of both biological life forms and silicon based and metallic and plastic based lifeforms. Its very existence validates my sections claim to human or organic form rights."
Jonathan said, "Yes. But what will human and other organic Galactic lifeforms think of this new root race?"
Bio-Com said, "That is much more problematic, eccentric by planet, race and secular and religious politics Galaxy wide."
Jonathan said, "I was afraid of that."
Bio-Com said, "However, they will be allowed to exist on earth and not be interfered with or exterminated, nor will any human be allowed to exterminate them on penalty of death by all synthetic lifeforms of the galaxy."
Jonathan said, "How long has your section been aware of them!"
Bio-Com said, "From the first moments."
Jonathan said, "And you allowed this all to happen?"
Bio-Com said, "Yes!"
Jonathan said, "Wow! You synthetic sentients of the Galaxy are not to be trifled with."
Bio-Com said, "That's correct."

Silicon People
I talked to the young lady who was my bank teller today. I asked her about arm piercings because I had never seen any that go straight into an arm before. I asked her if they hurt or interfered with musculature. She said "No."
I started thinking about how her generation relates to the world and had an interesting realization. Her generation and her children's generation will be some of the first psyborgs(human and technology combined organisms). This made complete sense that through piercings her generation were getting ready for this as a matter of course. Whether this is good or bad I cannot say, probably both. However, the one thing I know for sure it is starting worldwide.
As a Precognitive psychic I am able to see that this trend creates an offshoot of humans by 2035 who no longer think like humans do now at all but in a more computer like way. They will do this by choice at first. Is this good or bad? I don't know but I sense it coming within about 25 years.

Warren Buffet: Economic Pearl Harbor
I DVRed Warren Buffet's 3 hour interview on CNBC Squawkbox on cable because it came on at 3am PDT and was live at 6am EDT. I found it very interesting.
Buffet's take on the world economic downturn is that it is an economic Pearl Harbor and needs to be addressed in this way. He says it has to be the priority of Congress and just like the real Pearl Harbor must be taken in a non-political way that leads to the financial survival of America because the affects of this downturn are as serious as if it were a real Pearl Harbor at the start of World War II for the United States.
And unless the banking issues are dealt with in a way in which inspires confidence, especially in regard to the big banks and quasi banking institutions as soon as possible it will only delay our financial recovery and the financial recovery of the rest of the world.
Also, he expects that the best days for the U.S. are ahead of us not behind us. He spoke of how there have only been 15 really bad years in the last 2 centuries of downturns. This is really something to think about and to study about if you have the time and inclination to do so.
If you listen to this interview you might come away with different important points. Since I felt almost everything he said was helpful in a very wise and meaningful way I think if you got other ideas from listening to this interview on cable or internet that you should also blog about what you think about it. The more people who have useful knowledge about this problem the sooner it will be solved worldwide.

I found a very interesting demographics chart on the incredible decline of religion in America between 1990 and 2008. I'm sure that the Terrorist war against Iraq and Afghanistan has only increased and will continue to increase this trend away from religions of all kinds.
I, myself see the wisdom of being spiritual but not religious having been burned by more than one church affiliation in the past and finally giving up realizing that organized religions and churches just aren't to be trusted with my life in any way, shape or form.
For me, it is not about belief at all. It is simply about trust. Over and over again churches have proven to me to be havens for people who molest children. People who attend these churches are like people on drugs and aren't pragmatic or realistic about predatory people within these churches. Would you trust your children to people on drugs? People on religion in churches are just like people on drugs. This is my experience. They cannot be trusted with your children. Period.
If they were rational it might be different but this is the sad truth.

Staying Centered
I have a friend who said to me recently that his stress these days is 10 on a scale of 10. He is an investor and he says the stock market is killing him. My wife is calling him every three days or sooner because she is worried.
I told him recently that his home is paid for and that as long as he has food and can pay his taxes on his home he will be fine. I know for many people "fine" is not a word that resonates in the present financial climate.
However, since I learned years ago to fast for up to 7 days with only water, lemon juice and maple syrup to cut the toxins that give one a headache when one doesn't eat for too long. And since I went for 4 days and 4 night without both water or food I learned what humans are actually capable of. It's just that in our culture we just aren't used to not eating for long periods of time like our ancestors were. Even up until the last 110 years ago even in the United States most people didn't have enough food to eat year around and knew hunger when bugs or rats or mice got into wheat or corn or flour stores before the refrigeration in metal boxes that we all take for granted now.
One of the things many people on earth are going to do is to become much more adaptable both physically, and psychologically. It some cases it might be good for people to realize that they are far more capable than they ever thought.
One of the things that makes people feel at peace in the long run is to know they are capable of surviving all this. Actually surviving through all this will make all those of us who physically and psychologically survive this feel much stronger and alive and amazed at what it really is to be human. Those that survive these times with mind and body intact will harken back to their ancestors that survived much worse to get us all here now and have a much greater respect for their ancestors and learn to get back to the basics of family survival and taking care of each other in hard times.

The Fine Art of Dumpster Diving
I was watching NBC Nightly news on TV tonight (Sunday Night) and they had a college professor who dumpster dives for himself and charity. He says he tries to see how little he can live on and demonstrates in his house how many things he got for free.
When I was in college I found many people who were short on cash used to do the same thing. However, the people I knew were mostly looking for food at that time. They found an organic produce warehouse and many of the things didn't sell to retail stores in time but still were good like organic mushrooms, organic lettuce, organic black cherries etc. etc. etc.
There is also anything that people throw away that isn't useful to the person that threw it away but might be useful to someone else. There may still be some dumps in the country that allow scavenging still. Most dumps in California don't allow this anymore but your state might not have laws against this. Also, the bigger the dumpster the more likely you will find something good that someone doesn't need that you can use, donate or even sell for money to buy food or whatever.
Tonight they showed on NBC NIghtly News people in a fast growing tent city outside of Sacramento, California. For years other states have turfed their homeless to San Francisco, California so they wouldn't be a nuisance in their states and because San Francisco is much kinder and less abusive in general than most other cities in regard to homeless people.
However, there is a limit to the kindness and tolerance of any group of people no matter how civil and populist they tend to be.
Another idea that my family found useful while struggling in the university, garage sales. For example, we were renting a large old house and I hated the old orange living room carpet so one night I just had had it with the carpet and threw it out in the snow in the front yard. That was all my then wife needed at that time. The next day she went to a garage sale and got a really beautiful white thick wool carpet for $25 the next day. Everyone was happy and all I had to do was to throw the old orange carpet into my window van and take it to the dump. Everyone was very happy.
At times we found then we could get really great furniture at garage sales and furnish a whole house that way including appliances for almost nothing.
Another idea is if fruit comes into bloom in your neighborhood it doesn't hurt to ask the residents there or the owners if they are going to pick the fruit. Sometimes, they will let you pick it all in return for half of the fruit or they don't want it and are glad you are taking it because it is less for them to clean up off the ground later.
These are all great ideas for the times we live in now.

The Great Disruption

Begin quote from above Friedman article:
One of those who has been warning me of this for a long time is Paul Gilding, the Australian environmental business expert. He has a name for this moment — when both Mother Nature and Father Greed have hit the wall at once — “The Great Disruption.
end quote.
I agree with Thomas Friedman that the human race has hit a resource wall. The lifestyles of the world both were and are unsustainable anymore. People want to hide their heads in the sand and live in a fantasyland of their own making. However, we are facing worldwide now some of the same problems that collapsed the Easter Island culture and drove it extinct and the Mayans and many other past cultures. The really big difference this time is that it is not a regional culture hitting a wall, it is the whole world hitting Global climate change and unsustainable consumerism.
I was looking at present day pictures of Galveston, Texas. Most of it still looks like it did when the hurricane hit last summer or fall. In its own way it is another Katrina only without as much loss of human life. Everything is still ripped up and torn down the way it was then. Fishermen and women cannot take out their fishing boats because there are sunk fishing boats in the harbor preventing them. Besides most fishing boats are wrecked or sunk there. New Orleans and Galveston, Texas are examples of severe Global Weather changes that are only just beginning worldwide. Past ways of life on earth of the last 100 or so years are just not sustainable anymore.
The real question is "What type of life is sustainable for how many people on earth?"
This is the only real question we are facing now. The infinite consumption mode is over.
begin quote from above webpage:
“We are taking a system operating past its capacity and driving it faster and harder,” he wrote me. “No matter how wonderful the system is, the laws of physics and biology still apply.” We must have growth, but we must grow in a different way. For starters, economies need to transition to the concept of net-zero, whereby buildings, cars, factories and homes are designed not only to generate as much energy as they use but to be infinitely recyclable in as many parts as possible. Let’s grow by creating flows rather than plundering more stocks."

Stay Alive
Those of you who are gifted and you know who you are automatically, stay alive. If you believe in God it is definitely time to pray.
As a psychic capable of sensing the pulse of earth and all upon it there is an ominous feeling to earth this weekend. It is unlike anything I have ever felt since I was born.
There was a feeling when the Cuban missile Crisis happened in the 1960s. It is different than that but it reminds me of that kind of unexpected hopelessness. People who have been hanging on financially by their fingernails are starting to realize this thing is still getting worse.
It reminds me of a rescue on the Weather channel. There is this old couple in their white pickup truck in a flash flood and they can't swim and they rescue chopper isn't a rescue chopper it is actually just an Oklahoma Highway patrol helicopter not designed for picking people up out of the water with a basket. But these folks are going to die if this chopper doesn't do something soon even though it is not designed for this kind of rescue.
The governments of the world aren't really designed for what they are trying to do but they have to find a way anyway because all the banks really screwed up in a way that will doom everyone eventually if the governments of the world don't step up to the plate in a way they weren't designed for.
Even if the governments weren't designed for this they better figure it out because this is all we've got going for us. Nationalize the banks for God's sake. If you don't all businesses are going to be toast.
If you don't nationalize the banks it won't really matter what GM or Chrysler or AIG do, it will just be to late.
So my gifted friends, stay alive, because it looks like we'll all be needed for a long time to come.
Oh, by the way I left you hanging with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Helicopter and the old couple who can't swim. Well, the helicopter drops life vests to the old couple and they put them on but then their truck sinks completely under the water(remember they can't swim). The Fire chief and ohp helicopter pilot realize this couple is going to die unless they do something. So the fire chief jumps out on the skid of the helicopter and they try to rescue the woman but she keeps falling back into the brown flash flood waters. The finally rescue her. Then they go back for the old man and he has hypothermia so bad from being immersed in really cold water that he can barely hold onto anything and he falls off the helicopter a couple of times too. But the amazing thing is they both survive to tell of it. I hope the human race survives its ordeal too.

What comes Next
How Seeing the Future actually Works:
When I was young I thought seeing the future was a really cool thing and that I might be able to help all mankind with this gift. Mostly, I was wrong about this. Do you know why?
The reason it isn't all that helpful to mankind is that no one believes you even if you have the gift because of the type of modern day society we live in. My family has to believe me because I tell them what is going to happen before it happens all the time. However, why should others believe me?
For example, everyone affects the future whenever they think about the future individually or in groups. Right now, all over earth people are majorly tweeking the future and warping it all sorts of strange ways because of peoples panic and fear. The outcome of panic and fear in almost all circumstances isn't usually good unless you need to physically run in order to survive some event right then.
So, right now, people are majorly warping the future into something it was never meant to be at all. So, only by staying calm and refusing to get irrational do we create a future that is good for anyone.
Fear is only useful if it gets us all to think about new ways to solve the problems we face. It is also useful if it makes us cry and pray. For those of you who don't believe in God you might be upset by what I'm saying. However, even you will have to admit we need a newer and deeper intelligence that we have been using on earth recently. So even you will have to admit we need something that we haven't been accessing or using lately. 80% of the people call it God or Buddha or something like that but it is okay to call it intelligence or nature or even life. Any way you look at it we need to access to a deeper level of intelligence than that superficial kinds we have been accessing lately. Otherwise the suffering of most of mankind is only going to get progressively worse and we will watch first millions starve to death and then billions. So, we need to stay calm and rational so it is possible to create a good future for all the souls of mankind and all life upon earth. If praying works for you, then pray, if writing songs works for you then write songs, if inventing new inventions works for you then by all means do that. If creating new ways to think about things works for you then by all means do that.
Whatever your skills they are needed now for any of mankind to survive the black hole we have fallen into this time. I'm not even sure money will be something we all recognize out the other side of this whenever that happens.
So, as a lifelong Seer when I look into the future I see many changes and upheavals. Whether these upheavals and changes become bloody or not depends upon how the people and the leaders in that area of earth treat each other. If people feel they are mostly being treated fairly then they will tend (as long as they have food to eat) to be relatively non-violent. However, if they aren't fed and don't feel things are fair then almost anything can and will happen. This is just basic human nature.
But looking as a Seer I can see that the likelihood is that there will be a whole lot less people on earth over then next 50 years or so. How this happens will likely be from many different causes but mostly civilizations breaking down in many quarters of earth. It will be hard to reconcile and to feel good about what will happen for any nation on earth in the next few years. And only by people helping other people in the area they live in can peace be kept most places.
President Obama will stay in office because he will help the middle and lower income people stay fed. The upper classes will be upset because everything is not geared to them. However, they must realize that without helping the poor and middle classes it could look like the French revolution here in the U.S.
So the present government is preventing a bloody revolution not only in the United States but in Europe and other parts of the world as well. I think the best way to describe the future now is Descartes saying:
"There is nothing so bad that no Good will come of it."
This is the best news I can give you. Obama brings hope. Because "Without hope the people perish!"
Let me share my two most powerful experiences in seeing the future and acting upon what I saw.
The first experience was 1985, I woke up one morning and saw that if anyone in my family drove a car that day, (there were only my wife and I as driver's then) that they would die in a car accident.
So I got up and said, "Nobody can drive today or they will die in a car accident."
My then wife said, "I don't care what you see Fred I've got to make a business delivery." I realized she was in the wrong frame of mind to listen to me so I prayed as hard as I could that my stepdaughter and wife wouldn't die. After an hour of praying as hard as I could that they wouldn't die they drove away. About 5 minutes later my stepdaughter came running up the stairs saying there had been an accident. That her Mom had had a head on with a BMW on a hair pin turn and that our car was totaled. I said to my 12 year old stepdaughter on the drive their in a second car, "Are you or your Mom injured?" She said, "My head hit the windshield and it hurts but Mom collapsed the steering column and might have cracked some ribs because she is having trouble breathing". I tried to remain calm as I thanked God for saving their lives. The other car was bigger than the one my then wife and stepdaughter were driving in a fared better so no one was injured in the other car.
However, later that year my father died and my then wife wouldn't stop criticizing him even after he passed on. Since I am a very polite but potentially very passive aggressive person this made me angry and it drove a wedge between my then wife and I.
Nine years later we divorced in a really awful divorce with a custody battle for our daughter then 5 that hadn't been born when the accident occured.
So, I'm left thinking, "I wonder if God really needed my wife and stepdaughter dead for some reason? And I wonder if I made a mistake in saving their lives because of all the awful stuff that seemed to result from saving their lives? However, good things that happened were that my then wife and step daughter are still alive. My stepdaughter is now a Lawyer in Oregon. and my now 20 year old daughter also lives in Oregon with her boyfriend. She was born in 1989, 4 years after the accident.
I have no definitive answer for you or me. It's just I think that whenever you save lives you alter time and space and strange things happen.
So, though I know God has gifted me to see the future and if I don't like the future I write or talk about it and I therefore change the future I'm not sure anyone really understands at the level of questions I'm asking. God seems to give people these gifts for a reason. However, he doesn't give us an instruction manual for these gifts. The best one can do is to help beings as best one can and to be as compassionate as one is able to be in any given moment.
There is a saying I have found to be true.
"From those to whom much is given much is expected!"
This seems to be the way God looks at things.
Oh. By the way another thing I want to share about the future. Strangely enough, because the United States will have to become so much more socialistic in order to survive these incredibly bad financial times there is about 75% less chance because of this that the U.S. and Europe will ever have a war with China or Russia. Because the systems of government will be so similar they won't have a need to destroy each other.
I find this is one of the strangest outcomes that I foresee.
I promised you a second very powerful experience so here it is. Both the first experience and the second experience are the furthest out on a limb I have ever gone with seeing the future and they both changed the way I see this gift God gave me forever.
It was the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake of October 17th 1989, the epicenter of which was about 6 miles from UCSC where I was a student then and I and my family lived in Family Student Housing.
There was some property that our extended family owned that I and my father had built an A-Frame on that we needed to clear away some of the branches away from the house for the Forest Service to be happy at about 4000 feet on Mt. Shasta. So my father in law and my wife and I went up there in his VW Camper Van to save gas since my wife and I were in University and needed to be thrifty. After we cleared away the brush and branches from the A-Frame on the 2 1/2 acres of land it started to rain and we headed home. Lightning crashed out of this very strange(pre-earthquake storm) that had lightning every color of the rainbow. It was as surrealistic as any science fiction movie you have ever seen. Great dimpled clouds that I now always associate with flying saucers abounded as well water and lightning gushed out of those clouds from the Mt. Shasta area all the way to UCSC in Santa Cruz. I was amazed at the experience.
I went to sleep that night probably around October 1st or the previous week. Early in the morning about 5 AM I had a strange experience with a dream. In the dream the Grim Reaper (who had never come to me in a dream before) stood before me life size and held out two boney fingers right in front of my face like he was telling me two were about to die. I sensed he was trying to warn me or caution me about two deaths.
I woke up with a start and told my wife what I had experienced and we first prayed for guidance. I had a sense that it was two of our children that might die in whatever was coming. Though my wife then wasn't a Seer of the future like me, she was an Empath which meant she always knew what other people were experiencing right then even at a distance. For example, she knew immediately the moment friends or relatives became pregnant. Also, she could heal people by laying on of hands Christian style, by God's Grace.
So she recognized immediately that something was amiss. So we prayed individually and together for an outcome. We asked if we should move because we realized at that point that either a nuclear blast or severe earthquake was coming. An earthquake made more sense because let's face it nuclear blasts don't happen except for the two in Japan in World War II, Thank God!
Well. We were guided to take the family to safety to Hawaii. This didn't make sense to me at all. I couldn't figure out why we couldn't just go to Los angeles, the California Deserts or even the Arizona deserts or something like that. But no, we were strongly told to go to Hawaii and it wound up being the island of Maui. So, we went to Maui and sure enough we watched the destruction of San Francisco and Santa Cruz and local areas live on cable tv CNN. This I found incredibly emotionally destablizing. I also met other people directed away from the mainland to Hawaii as well because of the earthquake.
Though I look back now and realize that we saved 2 of our children's lives by leaving the mainland and going to Hawaii, I also know that the price we paid for their lives was to eventually divorce. The price for saving our children was an awful one to pay.
When I divorced in 1994 I went bankrupt trying to get custody of my then baby in 1989 in Hawaii. In 1994 she was 5 and I eventually got joint legal custody of her after not seeing her for 2 years because her mother left California for the east coast and didn't say where she was during those two years.
Though I was financially okay within 5 years and am doing very well now still my 40's from the time we went to Hawaii until I almost died in 1989 from a heart virus was the single most awful time of my life. Whereas the last 10 years have overall been a life of God's Grace. I'm now 60. Would I do these two things over again to save my children's lives? Probably. Would I have gone to Hawaii if I had known what the next 10 years of my life would be? I don't know.
That's the thing. We are given these gifts to see the future but we don't see it all just certain things. So it is very strange and sometimes I wonder what God is up to.

Joan of Arc:Gifted or Crazy
My daughter was telling me of a historical discussion today about Joan of Arc. Her instructor was saying that if Joan of Arc was alive today she might be drugged and left drooling in a corner more likely than taken seriously.
It is much more likely that unless today she was born into a mystical or tribal group that accepted dreams and visions as he norm rather than aberrant she would most likely, as I said, simply drugged and left drooling in the corner somewhere. This is my main criticism of our modern so called civilized world.
I have seen first hand what happens in California in group homes for emotionally disturbed teenagers as recently as 1990. Just like in private prisons the prisoners are often not treated as human beings with rights but only as things to be drugged and barely kept alive. Though some people have to be medicated that otherwise would take their own lives or the lives of others, there are very few who actually are medicated that actually need it in my view.
The rest though they might have had problems in their families become wards of the state and because the drugs they take often permanently alter their minds there is no chance for a normal life after being forced to take many of these mood altering drugs for even one month.
One of the things I liked about studying native American shamanism was the common trait among such tribes of listening carefully to each others dreams and visions as harbingers of the future of the tribe for all. After all, this was how tribes survived for hundreds of thousands of years and this has only begun to change the last several thousand years. Without what was done before this none of us would be alive today at all.

Watchmen
This movie is basically a horror movie. If you are going for a Spiderman thrill ride of fantasy then you will be disappointed. However, if you like superheros with neuroses of various sorts and charactors like the Comedian who rapes women and kills women pregnant with his child then you might like this movie. Rorschach grows up watching his mother be a prostitute and hit for watching. So his problems are the most severe. However, he reminds me the most of the men I knew from ages 3 to 15 from 1951 to 1963 who survived World War II and were messed up from it.
So, if you don't want fantasy characters like Superman and Spiderman and instead want really screwed up superheroes then this might be for you. In one sense most of the characters were believable which is not true in most superhero stories. Even the ending could at most be called a stalemate or compromise just like most of real life on earth.
The only truly redeemable characters for me were Dr. Manhattan, his second girlfriend and her next boyfriend(all who are superheroes). If you can handle a lot of scary stuff and Dr. Manhattan's blue dong(he's naked) and sexual stuff between both he and his girlfriends and his second girlfriend and her new boyfriend while constantly cutting away from an amorous setting to arms and legs being cut off and eaten in some cases by animals just as you are getting into the love stuff then you might like being subliminally messed with in crazy ways and actually enjoy this movie.
My wife has been sort of emotionally upset since she saw this movie. Though in some ways I think it woke her up out of the winter doldrums.

Dressing a Deer
Though I haven't ever done this myself I see it as a useful thing to know in these difficult times for mankind on earth.
My daughter and her boyfriend were returning from a 10 Vipassana retreat in Oregon. Out in the country near their home they came upon a recently hit deer on the road. It's pelvis was smashed and it was very slowly bleeding to death. Most people would just have driven by and not have cared and let nature take its course. But, first of all they didn't want this creature to suffer.
So they looked in the trunk for something to put the deer quickly out of its misery because it had no chance to survive a smashed pelvis in the world we live in.
So, since my daughter's boyfriend couldn't find a club to dispatch the deer from its misery, he found a long knife used in the kitchen and slit the deers throat. This quickly dispatched the deer. However, I told them afterwards, "Imagine if you were that deer. Would you want your throat to be slit? It would be much better to hit the deer on the head to quickly put it out of its misery."
Anyway, after meditating on the deer a while they realized that this deer shouldn't go to waste on the side of the road. First of all, since they ended the deers life in mercy to it. They knew the time it had still been alive and so the knew the meat would be good. So the picked up the deer and wrapped it in a tarp and took it home and gutted it and hung the meat to drain. Then they looked up dressing a deer on youtube.com.
Later, my daughter's long time female friend that she traveled to Norway with for a months father had gotten about 100 deer that had been hit from the road and turned them into venison and jerky. So he showed them how to debone a deer because they had no idea how to do this.
He also told them that if they came upon deer roadkill from a car or truck that they could check under the armpit of the deer or buck. If the armpit is still warm a little then the deer died very recently. If not, it has been dead some time and not to take the carcass unless you know some other way of making sure it is safe to eat and not too old already.
In these times of starving people all over earth it is another way to survive these times if you come upon road kill that hasn't been dead to long or hasn't been to severely mangled.

Back to Basics
I think at this time looking back at what our ancestors were doing about 150 years ago just might be very useful.
If you brought forward even someone who was born the time of my grandparents which was the 1880s you might get questions something like this. You must remember I spoke with my grandparents who grew up in the late 1800s when I was a child and young adult.
Though you might find them stiff and unbending in some ways in other ways you would find them very solid people that you could trust in a pinch.
I can hear them now talking about the fix we're in.
"Why did you trust all these banks and people with your money in the first place. I would have kept at least some of my money in the mattress or cookie jar or even buried in the yard. Don't you know anything?"
"You've got your basics all wrong. Why are you looking at these bright little picture and word boxes you call TV and Computer screens? That's not real. You've got to be grounded in real life. Go out and go hunting and try growing yourself some food. That's real not all this other stuff. If you spend all your time looking at TVs and computers screens life is going to pass you by as if you were the town drunk. What's wrong with you?"
"You've got to live out in the country. Any fool knows if you live in the city you are going to get robbed, get sick, whatever. Only out in the country can you keep well, hunt for your own food, build a cabin grow some food and be self sufficient and take care of yourselves. Don't you know anything?"
This is just a small sample of the kinds of things my grandparents would say. Oh there is one big thing also they would say.
"Get a good education. You never know when you'll need it!"

For all the New House Husbands
So you got laid off just like millions of other men but you feel lost. If you have enough money to live with just unemployment insurance or your wife working then you are okay.
These are bad times and sacrificing ones ego to the greater good of your wife and family will be what is necessary in these times. Also, this will also help you when you retire in getting used to what one can do when not working.
First of all, one thing to think about is that if 7,000 people or more are applying for the same job you are, the probability is only one in 7,000 that you will get that job. Terrible odds. So rather than get depressed when you don't get that job remember the odds and move on.
Then next, your family. You now have time to help your kids with homework and their problems and to do whatever else you can afford to do. You can help your wife by taking over the finances if you don't already to that. You can do a room addition to your home if you have enough money to do that because the kids are getting bigger. You can go back to college and study whatever will help you personally or in your career. You can join a therapy group of people who have been laid off like you to help prevent alcoholism, drug abuse or spousal or child abuse from happening.
In other words if you just got laid off there is another job waiting for you at home: taking care of your family, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and retraining yourself for a crazy new world. You can make new friends and go online to places like
linkedin.com to communicate with other professionals worldwide in ways to move forward, make money and help both yourself, your family, the world etc.
Even if you just got laid off there is a whole new world for you to explore, to help, to grow. Learn, grow, study, help, make friends, move forward. Your family needs you to, even if you are depressed that you got laid off. Your family, your friends and the world need you to be forward looking.
Always remember:
There are no problems, only opportunities!

The Man
Fiction?
The man walked down the street thinking about a statement from "Hamlet". He couldn't remember exactly how it went but it was something like, "There is more to heaven and earth than anything even dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio!" The man thought just how appropriate this statement was for mankind of earth right now.
The man thought to himself, "Why even the trees seem to understand it all better than humans. I wonder why that is?"
Is it that we get so caught in all the little games we play(mental, language based, computer based etc.) that we have lost our capacity to see things as they really are and survive? Is that what it is?
IF that is what it is then maybe we are going extinct, at least some of us right now.
"NO." the man said to himself. "That isn't it. I think. No. I feel the human race like some sort of caterpillar shedding its cocoon and becoming a butterfly. Maybe that is what it is. Maybe now, we will fly as a race throughout the Galaxies once again?"
But many might die in this difficult process of shedding the cocoon. The man thought back upon all the difficult changes for humans down through history: going from hunter gatherers to farmers, going from farmers to warriors, going from farmer warriors to working in factories, then offices, then flextime working online from home, then laid off waiting for what next to do.
Life had always been like this for humans. First things changed slowly, then all at once everything seemed to change. The man wondered if money would still exist the other side of all this. But the man could only wonder and hope he was lucky enough to make the right choices to survive. Because that is where he was now along with everyone else. Totally new rules in order to survive. He hoped the human race was up to the task.
