Why?
Because if you weren't tough enough you didn't survive then either. The 1950s were a time of recovery from World war II where everyone had lost one or more friends, lovers, brothers, fathers. etc.
Everyone had PTSD (only there was no name like this for it then but "Battle Fatigue" it was called then. So, between 1945 and 1955 people were doing really crazy things and dying from taking too many risks because they couldn't deal with their PTSD from World war II. Then the Korean War became "World War II" part 2. Then The Viet Nam War became "World War II" Part 3" of the Cold War and the Korean War was also a part of World War II and the Cold War too.
So, if you aren't tough enough to survive 2018 you won't psychologically or physically survive.
If you weren't tough enough to survive the 1950s with all the child abuse and people being buried in back yards all over the U.S. and those deaths never being investigated you didn't survive then either.
So, are you tough enough to survive these times and get your kids through school and into college?
If not, it's just goodbye like it also was in the 1950s when it seemed like half the kids I knew just disappeared and were never heard from ever again.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
