There is a saying about California, "It never rains it pours". Outside of hurricanes in the South, California is one of the few places where you can expect at times, 16 inches of rain in 3 days. They say it is because of the strength of the storms that come off of the Pacific Ocean. However, when we get that much rain there are going to be flash floods at some points. There have been quite a few days and weeks the past couple of months that have been scary in this way in Northern California. However, we also need the rain to fill up our dams, lakes and rivers so we have enough water for the next year and farmers have enough rain for crops too, especially since the middle of the nation is in such serious drought that barges can't travel north of where the Ohio River connects to the Mississippi River. However, there is enough rain this year from the Ohio River South for Barges on the Mississippi River.
Likely California Crops will do well this year and this might help fill the gap from the center of the nation 200 year drought some since California has the best food growing soil on earth in the long Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley and in the Salinas Valley.
