The Drones of Skynet in Terminator

I was watching Terminator 3 again on TV yesterday and thinking about the autonomous drones of today and realized that programming wise and technology wise there really is no difference at all between the drones of today than the ones in the Terminator Series. We are there. When Autonomous drones exist (and there will be thousands and millions soon all over earth in different countries) people will begin to disappear more. Just because it is an easy way to eliminate people without leaving much evidence. At least now, most drones that use missiles to eliminate people are sent by the CIA but in the near future they will be owned by 100s of nations and 1000s of corporations that will eliminate people too. This is just how technology proliferates. So, whether it is a missile, a suicide drone, a drone with cluster bombs, a drone with small caliber machine guns or lasers or whatever it is: soon you will see them. Or maybe it will be a night so no one will see them or hear them at all. Maybe all you would see would be a body that mysteriously died somewhere in the mountains, desert, city or seashore Anywhere on earth.

All you have to do is to trace back to the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk and compare that to the Drones of today. Then trace forwards now 110 years later with World War I and World War II and the Viet Nam WAr and the Terrorists wars of the last 10 or 20 years now and you can see sort of where all this is going. It isn't a pretty thought is it?

One of the problems is it will be used to eliminate leaders all over earth by those of opposing sides. And without enough good leaders all countries will be in trouble. I watched a movie called Syriana and one of the Sheiks that was eliminated in a caravan of vehicles that Matt Damon was also riding in was controversial but a real hope for his people too. Then you saw Matt Damon, shellshocked with blood coming out his ears wandering across the desert away from the caravan after the sheik and his whole family had been eliminated by missile from above.
