Idaho families walk 19 miles after getting stranded
Two
buddies had no supplies when they and their three young kids got stuck
on a snowy, isolated Idaho road. They had to get pretty creative to pass
the time while walking 19 miles for help. VPC

Will Murkle and his 10-year-old daughter Megun went for a drive on Saturday afternoon. Family friends John Julian and his two children, 8-year-old Samantha and 7-year-old Isaac joined them.
He says the group had no supplies when their truck got stuck in the snow on Long Gulch Road southeast of Arrowrock Dam around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
All of them overnighted in the vehicle and began a long trek the next day for help. They eventually found an occupied cabin in Prairie and used a phone to call for help.
Megun Murkle says she's glad she was able to walk the 19 miles for help. "It was just a long journey, but fun and miserable," she said.
Both Murkles were still sore from the long trip on Monday, but grateful.
"I was also thinking, we can do this, we can do this, I just kept saying that in my head and we did it," Megun Murkle told KTVB.
Will Murkle says the group just wanted to see animals and go for a drive in the country, and never expected to go through the ordeal.
"We got stuck, we got unstuck, and we got stuck again," said Will Murkle.
Murkle says the group was able to keep a good attitude, even though they had no cell phone service or food and spent the night huddled under coats in the truck.
Meanwhile, Will's wife Chaunte was up all night, worried about the safety of her husband and daughter.
"My heart told me they were okay and we just needed to find them, so I knew they were okay," said Chaunte Murkle.
Overnight, a group of rescuers began searching for the missing families.
Help eventually came after the group found a cabin Sunday whose owner let them call family members.
"When I first saw my mom I was like yes we're home, I was just so happy to see her," Megun Murkle said.
