I think the Earth might eventually support ongoing 100 million to 1 billion people

I think that eventually the earth could support ongoing 100 million to 1 billion people (if everyone lives on the surface of the earth. However, if most or all people live under the earth so all surface areas can be used for farming or recreation then the earth might support up to 13 to 14 billion people.
end quote from:
2037

I just wanted to clarify something I wrote about. First of all, the world (in recorded history) has not ever had 7 billion or more people on it until now. Even when I was born there were only 1 to 2 billion people on Earth (1/7 to 1/3 of what is presently on earth).

So, what I'm saying here is this level of people can't be maintained if everyone lives on the surface of earth because living on the surface takes up too much farmland for living that cannot then be farmed. EVen here in California this is true because some of the best farmland (ON EARTH) is turned into gas stations, towns, and subdivisions of homes etc. every day.

Because of this and climate change growing food is going to be harder and more expensive worldwide every day. So, even if we can grow enough food to feed the whole world it won't be possible to afford to transport that food at low enough prices for people to be able to afford to buy it if their income is below about what the average income on earth actually is.

So, because of all this only about 100 million to 1 billion people can actually be kept going for thousands of years (if people choose to live on the surface of earth).

It's sort of like if you have a party you can get 100 to 300 people in your house and they might all pass out from drinking too much but they can't all live there. That is sort of where the earth is now. Everyone alive now cannot be supported ongoing for 100s or 1000s of years. This is only temporary for about 50 years at most. This is something for everyone to look at now.

But, living underground and saving all lands above ground for farming and recreation might just work for about 13 to 14 billion people. So, that's the clarification I'm trying to make here.
