This is actually a very important question. Because, if Putin thinks the Soviet Union's Collapse was the worst tragedy of the 20th Century why wouldn't he want to resurrect the Soviet Union? However, to succeed he would first have to weaken the democratic capitalists both in his country and around the world to succeed in creating a 2nd Soviet Union. With Russian and European democratic Capitalists weakened by U.S. and European Sanctions against Russia, he just might be able to pull off another Soviet Union without any legal capitalism once again. Because at that point, who could or would stop him?
However, I'm afraid that new Soviet Union would resemble North Korea more than anything else so in this sense it might be an economic disaster for both the Russian people and for the world.
It could also be a potential nuclear disaster for the world as well.
