Writing

It's always best to write about what you have actually experienced or know about. Even if you are writing about what is happening on another planet it is sort of important that you know enough about the laws of physics when writing that so it sounds believable when people read it. My wife (who reads about 3 or 4 books a week to calm herself down) because our daughter is graduating High School soon and likely going off to one of the 7 colleges that accepted her for admission. I was impressed that all 7 colleges she applied to she was accepted at.

But, for my daughter this was just sort of confusing because now she has to choose one which is turning out to be difficult for her.

But, writing needs to be about something you are both interested in and something you actually know about.

When I write I bring many elements to what I write about in the fact that I was born in 1948. Also, I don't really try to write fiction at all but share my world view when I write. So, most of the time it isn't really fiction at all but more my actual experience of life presented in a legendary form.

Also, for me, I remember millions of years of lifetimes both past and future because I realized that my body is only one of millions likely at this point that I have inhabited in the past, present and future. So, likely thousands of my lifetimes were as humans on earth and the rest are various kinds of beings that exist or did exist that people either don't, or won't ever know about (unless I share my experiences) or they are beings humans will meet who are other types of humanoids (two eyes, two arms, two hands, two legs, one brain and usually procreate something like we do here.

So, for me, the natural state for most humans on earth is not as humans at all but as beings that don't normally (when they are born at least) even live in time or space as we know it. And because they basically never die, they also take lifetimes as humans on earth for much the same reason we read books and go to movies and watch television which is actually to make life enjoyable enough to want to stay alive and not jump off a cliff or drive your car off a cliff one day because you are just that bored with life.

But, all of you out there are actually just as unique as I am and likely want to write about that uniqueness or create worlds where life is more interesting or worthwhile than the one you presently might live in.

So, remember to start with experiences you have actually had or people you know have had because that will greatly enrich whatever era or planet, or galaxy you might want to write about.
