- I saw an advertisement for this and the 84 mpg and a sticker price of $6800 caught my eye. In some ways this kind of vehicle makes a lot of sense for a single person to own for high mileage without having to go hybrid. If you are driving to work for example alone, this might be a vehicle you want to do that in. If you are traveling cross country alone, this also might be a vehicle ou want to do that in. However, if you are married with children obviously you would want another larger vehicle also. This is a high mileage single person vehicle where you can stay warm cold weather or cool in hot weather that is similar to a motorcycle that is enclosed and drive more like a car. The main drawback I see is safety. It is sort of like driving a motorcycle safety wise, except that you are enclosed with a seat belt on so that is safer. However, this configuration though more stable than a Trike configuration still isn't as stable as a 4 wheeel vehicle because in a really sharp turn if you aren't careful enough the rear wheel is going to slide out because the friction of the front two tires on pavement is going to be greater than the single whel in back. And this might get more extreme in either snow, or mud or dirt or rain.
- note: I was thinking more about this and possibly if the amount of rubber on the back tire equaled the amount of rubber on the two front tires touching the road it might equalize out the handling characteristics of a vehicle such as this somewhat for snow, ice, rain and mud or rocks and dirt.
- One of the advantages of any 3 wheeled vehicle is that it won't slide out the wheels from under you in Dirt as easily as a 2 wheeled vehicle would. So, though a 3 wheeled vehicle is more stable than a 2 wheeled vehicle nothing compares to a 4 wheeled vehicle for stability.
