Yemen is a problem for the U.S.

The U.S. is allies with Saudi Arabia. The logic of this is quite simple. The Iran revolution around 1980 turned the U.S. relatively permanently against Iran. Also Saudi ARabia (which is Sunni Ruled like most Middle eastern nations) is against IRan (how convenient for the U.S.) (and the Sunni World).

But, Yemen is a disaster that likely (much like Syria) will become a progressively worse disaster over time. Because the Saudi Bombing is turning a civil war there into a Proxy war between Iran and Saudi Arabia with most or all Sunni nations siding with Saudi Arabia. So, Iran and the whole Shia world is in a fight for their lives with literally (all Sunni Muslims).

But, what is wrong with this picture?

The only way I can see for Iran to win this war (165 million Shias versus 1.1 billion Sunnis) would be for Iran to nuke all Sunnis out of existence. Iran has already created ISIS which came directly from Sunni funding and rage against them. So, all the minorities including Shias, Christians, Yazidis, and everything else that isn't Sunni Muslim has come from the rage against Iran and all Shias by 1.1 Billion Sunnis worldwide. And these Sunnis are just getting angrier by the day against Iran.

So, is Iran nuts?

No. Likely they believe they are going to eventually nuke (or threaten with nukes all Sunnis into submission)

So, could 165 million Shias actually win against 1.1 billion Sunnis worldwide?

No. But, they could through nuclear weapons bully the whole Sunni World much like Putin is bullying the free world right now in Ukraine.

And this is what is really going on.

Iran has no motivation at all to stop building nuclear weapons because to do that would be to watch ISIS and similar groups kill all Iranians in Iran eventually. So, their ONLY choice for long term survival of all Shias in the middle east is to build nuclear weapons.

This is only logical but also terrifying for the world.

Then you have the U.S.

The U.S. will get a black eye if Saudi Arabia and it's Sunni Allies continue to bomb Yemen in a proxy war there with Iran (even though Iran consciously caused the present state of affairs there by arming the Houthis with advanced weaponry against Saudi Arabia and other Yemenis.

However, to continue to exist as a government Saudi Arabia has no choice but to bomb out of existence the Houthis so they NEVER can rule Yemen.

This isn't good for the U.S. or the Middle East or the world.

But, we are in something a lot like World War II only in the middle East for the last 5 years or so since Syria blew up. So, maybe the way to look at this is everything is all screwed up and might remain this way or get much worse the next 5 to 10 to 20 years.

And Global Climate change (getting much hotter with people dying from the heat) is only going to add to this misery worldwide.
