Posthuman god
A variation on the posthuman theme is the notion of a "posthuman god"; the idea that posthumans, being no longer confined to the parameters of human nature, might grow physically and mentally so powerful as to appear possibly god-like by present-day human standards.[6] This notion should not be interpreted as being related to the idea portrayed in some science fiction that a sufficiently advanced species may "ascend" to a higher plane of existence—rather, it merely means that some posthuman beings may become so exceedingly intelligent and technologically sophisticated that their behaviour would not possibly be comprehensible to modern humans, purely by reason of their limited intelligence and imagination.[10]end quote from:

In the religion I was raised in I was taught that extraterrestrials were like "Post Human Gods" in that we really wouldn't be able to fully understand their motives and actions because they lived 5000 years or more and so we would seem like dogs or cats that have only short lives. So, extraterrestrials would likely be considered "children" until they were 100 to 500 years old. So, developmentally humans couldn't get very far compared to the extraterrestrial Gods who kept on learning new things throughout their lives.
Imagine a human being with a lifespan of 5000 to 10,000 years.
(even going to college until 30 or 35 like many doctorates do now was thought pretty strange in the 1950s and 1960s but became more common during the Viet Nam War and after).
People with only a high school diploma called people like this then a derogatory word which was "professional Student" or someone who would never have a job. (or at least never have a job until they were 40 or more years old.
But, as people live longer and longer all this is drastically changing over time.
Even right now it is scientifically possible to live as long as 142 years of age.
