Why is this true?
Because one 1 Billion people is a sustainable number of human beings living only on the surface of the planet at one time.
IF everyone lived underground and all surface areas were only for growing food and recreation this wouldn't be true, but it is right now the way mankind is living here on earth.
Western Medicine really got going with all the medical scientific breathroughs in the 20s century. So, mostly everyone was really happy about all their relatives and friends not dying so much around the world.
But, this is also why we now have 7 1/2 billion people on earth instead of the sustainable 1 billion like we had around the turn of the 20th century in the year 1900.
So, now we have a really big problem with 6 1/2 billion more people than the planet can realistically sustain ongoing.
So, overpopulation causes global Warming and global climate change which causes things like what happened recently in Karachi, Pakistan where about 2000 or more people died from heat prostration and another 65,000 people were hospitalized from it there with temperatures with a heat index as high as 141 degrees Fahrenheit when humidity and heat are combined in the effects on a human body without ice or air conditioning to retreat into.
PRoblems like Karachi in Pakistan and India in May where thousands died or were hospitalized both times are a product of overpopulation directly to some degree.
Also, when we realize that the north pole's average temperature has been 76 degrees Fahrenheit or 24.444 degrees Celsius at several times through Earth's history, it is likely the North Pole could be that average temperature again which likely would be warmer than the average temperature of Hawaii in the Summer in August or September. This also would mean temperatures at the Equator of 130 to 200 degrees also during the summers there.
So, everyone would only come out at night when it might get down to only 100 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrentheit or 37.778 Celsius or 48.889 degress Celsius.
So, the formula seems to be so far: overpopulation causes Global Warming and Global Climate changes and extinctions of hundreds and possibly thousands of species eventually including all the poorer people here on earth who have no access to ice or air conditioning to survive these kinds of temperatures.
So: Overpopulation causes Global Warming and Global Climate changes causes extinctions of hundreds and possibly thousands of species including eventually most or all humans as well.
This appears to be what is going on right now in the 6th (known) great extinction here on earth that is progressing forwards at an alarming rate right now everywhere.
Note: It took 1 million years of ferns from the north pole to the equator to suck up all the CO2 to create the kinds of climates at the north pole we had during the 20th century. Ferns tend to suck up more C02 than any plant on earth that I presently know of.
2nd note:
I realized I needed to give credit where credit is due.
Most developed nations now have either a zero population growth or a minus population growth at present. This is helpful to the survival of humans on planet earth. However, relatively uneducated people who are usually not educated very much often have 10 kids each and each of them do the same which eventually will result in the deaths of most or all humans and all others species of creatures on the planet except for maybe things like Cockroaches which they found can even withstand a nuclear blast in some cases without much damage to them.
So, the next evolving species to take over the earth might be cockroaches if humans are all dead from the heat. (This is not a happy thought) but might be something to consider if we all want to live much longer.
