I found this on the Forest Service maintained rest room there. This was the sign. I had been wondering what the altitude was for a long time. Basically, it's 7000 feet. When there isn't snow much on the mountain they open the road from from the little City of Mt. Shasta up to where the old ski bowl was in the 1950s through about 1978 past Panther Meadows. However, often the first snows they close the road with a gate at Bunny Flats.
Note: I accidentally hit a 7 instead of a 9 and caught my error just now. So, the actual altitude reported above a Forest Service rest room at Bunny Flats is 6950 feet in altitude.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
