IF you want to build web pages it likely would be. However, it all depends upon HOW you are going to build webpages. If you are going to use Artificial intelligence sources to build a web page you might not need to learn HTML or any of the other compatible languages in HTTP.
But, so you actually understand what is going on at a deeper level even then you need some background as to what HTML is all about and what all programming languages whether they are web resident or not are all about might be helpful too.
So, maybe the question: "What are you really trying to accomplish here?" might be the more important question because that might decide how you go about it.
IN other words if you are going to hire someone to build webpages for you anyway, why should you take the time to learn all this because in the end it is pretty esoteric on some levels just like learning any other human language like ancient Greek, Latin or Sanskrit.
I've always thought learning computer languages was and is exciting in some ways. Because you then have a better idea of what is here, what is going to be here, and where the future might go by studying computer languages.
But, other people have other needs and interests.
