The Viral nature of Articles comes and goes in waves. This was the most visits in any one month in the history of this site. It's always difficult to predict what articles are going to go viral like this. It's usually a combination of them in situations like this of maybe 5, 10, or 20 or more articles going viral at the same time.
Someone might really like something you've written or compiled or both and they tell 10 friends and then each of them tell 10 friends and on it goes all over the world. It's sort of like an atomic bomb kind of explosion of awareness only in a good way.
When my site really took off in readership it was during and after the 2011 Tsunami and earthquake that hit Japan. I was interested in helping people get geiger counters and then do crowd sourcing so people could report food and soil samples and water samples because governments didn't seem to be protecting people from the radiation from Fukushima and likely still aren't. So, if people aren't protecting themselves by using geiger counters when they catch fish around Fukushima or anywhere around Japan at this point then they have no one to blame but themselves.
Even porpoises and sharks and other top of the line predators could have gorged themselevs near fukushima and be radioactive in literally any part of the world because sharks and porpoises and killer whales and whales travel a lot that eat fish especially. Because radiation is going to be going into the ocean there at fukushima for 25,000 to 50,000 years or more and is spreading all over the world on ocean currents. Meltdowns take the radiation into the water tables and all the water tables head to the ocean there and always have and likely always will. So, this radiation is spreading all over the world on currents now and will for the next 25,000 to 50,000 years time or longer.
One of the three reactors that melted down into the ground there was reprocessing weapons grade plutonium which is the worst problem of Fukushima and why it will be radiating the ocean ongoing for 25,000 to 50,000 years and nothing really is going to stop it ever that I can presently think of.
They are trying to freeze deep into the ground to stop the water but where is the water going to go when it hits frozen ground and water. Inevitably it is going to go around the frozen ground and to the ocean another way. You cannot stop water (even radiated water) permanently from ever getting to the ocean. it will find a way always. Even if you store it in tanks eventually the tanks will rust and it will return to the ocean at some point as the tanks rust out. If you put it in fiberglass tanks eventually the sun and weather will make those crack and they will seep radiated water into the ocean too.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
