Westworld

The most interesting episodes of Westworld for me personally were:

"Kiksuya" which is the 8th  of 10 episodes  this season

The next most interesting episode for me was "Akane no Mai."

Kiksuya reminded me a lot of studying with a Medicine man from the  the same area as the Lakota Sioux in the early 1980s. My vision quest of no water and no food for 4 days and nights  in 1983 when I became a Golden Dragon as big as a house led me to Tibetan Buddhism and eventually to 4 months in India and Nepal in 1985 and 1986 with my family. This experience changed me a lot and made me realize humans are both much much more and much less than we realize every day. But, it is important to be very clear what your useful qualities are as well as what your weaknesses are if you want to live very long here on earth.

Like Clint Eastwood once said in one of his Dirty Harry Films: "A man's got to know his limitations".

Kiksuya brought back specific ways of thinking and of honor and Intentionality which is resident in many tribes. It is a way very close to survival itself in all situations.

Often people today get distracted by media of all kinds and don't take personal responsibility for anything including themselves, their thoughts and actions and their behavior and then we have people shooting up schools and businesses as a direct result. So, Kiksuya brings a way of thinking with integrity which might be considered primitive to modern day people but is sadly lacking in many today.

In the 1950s everyone would understand this kind of integrity, honor and intentionality but not so much today. It is a way of respecting all creatures, even humans.

Akane no Mai is interesting because it takes one into "Ancient Japan world" with Samurai and swordfights and beheadings. So, the ancient Samurai senses of honor is also interesting to watch in "Akane no Mai" as well.

However, one is really grateful not to be dealing with either world as a reality in their world today for a variety of reasons.

But, much can be learned about oneself and the world now from both these episodes of Westworld.

My wife cannot watch this program because it creeps her out completely. However, since I once wanted to build a female companion who was a robot when I was 18 I find this program both creepy but also interesting. I had a long discussion with my son who understands computer technology from an electronic theory level deeper than I do and who likes to build his own desktop computers from parts he orders from Amazon Prime. He was saying that a wifi with mainframes to run robots would actually be a threat to all mankind potentially. In other words what they have set up in Westworld technologically could easily extinct mankind if the wifi covered all the earth from satellites. For example, one could even use GPS satellites as wifi senders and receivers in addition to sending GPS signals.

Maybe this is why this program is so disturbing because it is so close to actually happening this century on earth worldwide. Like I said this would be possible worldwide to create robots just like this this century within 25 to 50 years and you could likely not tell the difference between the robots and the human beings. And the robots couldn't tell the difference necessarily either.
