Maria Shriver reacts to daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger's engagement to Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt has the seal of approval from fiancée Katherine Schwarzenegger's parents, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Pratt announced that he had proposed to his girlfriend of seven months on Instagram on Monday morning, and Shriver was one of the many loved ones who congratulated the newly-engaged couple in the comments section of his post.
"Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spiritual people," Shriver wrote. "We are so happy for you you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let's go."
Shriver's son and Katherine's younger brother, Patrick, 25, also commented on the post, writing, "Love you brother."
Pratt's ex-wife of nearly a decade, Anna Faris, also expressed her well wishes, writing, "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!"
People reported that Pratt had previously "asked for Maria and Arnold's blessing and was very traditional about things." That being said, Katherine's parents have always approved of their 29-year-old daughter's romance with the 39-year-old "Jurassic World" star.
"Chris has been very straightforward about his intentions from the beginning," a source told the outlet. "Over the last few months, he's been bonding with all of Katherine's siblings, and it was clear to her entire family they would get married."
In fact, the couple was actually set up by Shriver herself, and Pratt has been photographed out and about with the Schwarzeneggers: Grabbing lunch with Arnold, at a basketball game with Patrick and more.
"They are a very tight-knit crew -- and they love that Chris is a good-hearted, family-oriented person," another insider told People. "From the beginning, Chris has been part of the family activities and dinners at Maria's home -- he dotes on Katherine."
