Winds expected now up to 120 to 130 mph in Sierras with blizzard whiteouts

If you have ever been in a Blizzard whiteout it isn't funny at all unless you happen to be safe and warm in a cabin or house somewhere prepared for a blizzard and warm inside with food etc.

But, now driving towards the Sierras (from either direction)now isn't a great idea simply because you could be stuck without any visibility at all facing closed roads like Interstate 80 and 50 over the sierras.

Presently this is 1-80 over the Sierras from Caltrans:

NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.
[IN THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA & SIERRA NEVADA] 
A HIGH WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT OVER THE YOLO CAUSEWAY & OVER THE BRYTE BEND BRIDGE /WEST OF SACRAMENTO/ (YOLO CO)
EASTBOUND TRUCKS ARE BEING SCREENED AT APPLEGATE (PLACER CO) - DRIVERS MUST HAVE MAXIMUM CHAINS IN THEIR POSSESSION IN ORDER TO PROCEED - PERMIT LOADS ARE PROHIBITED


WESTBOUND TRUCKS ARE BEING SCREENED AT OVERLAND TRAIL RD /IN TRUCKEE/ (NEVADA CO) - DRIVERS MUST HAVE MAXIMUM CHAINS IN THEIR POSSESSION IN ORDER TO PROCEED - PERMIT LOADS ARE PROHIBITED

So far, Highway 50 has no restrictions at  least at present:

NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.
