I first saw the first Terminator movie in 1984 and because of my programming background and work with computers since 1966 I cried when I saw this movie because it was so very prescient of our potential future in some ways. Though we have gone in a different direction than this so far as a world society this danger still exists. Now the problem is AI in software and online worldwide more than anything else. So, "Skynet" or something like it is still an ongoing threat every day of our lives. But, for now, all this has morphed into things people can't quite get their heads around unless they keep studying it like I do. So, we are in just as much danger now or more than we were in 1984 when the first Terminator came out as of today.
