Because whoever is Biden's running mate likely will one day be president of the United States just because of Biden's age coming in as president of the U.S. of 78. Trump also is 74 now I believe.
Also, as Attorney General of California she was always very capable and now as one of the two U.S. Senators from California she is very capable too.
