Things are starting to change quicker now.

I had been planning to buy an Alaskan Camper for my 4 wheel drive Truck so I could stay in it and visit my children in Portland so I wouldn't have to worry about my health because I'm 72 and don't feel safe staying in any hotel yet.

But, today I talked with a friend up in Mt. Shasta. He had gotten his first vaccination along with 900 other cars in Yreka at the Fairgrounds there a few weeks ago. He was telling me because he is around 70 that he was in the last 8 cars that got the vaccinations. He also said that before his vaccination he had a 1 in 10 chance of going to the hospital if he got coronavirus before he was vaccinated. He said now he only has a 1 chance in 10,000 chance of getting coronavirus even after the first vaccination. There are only 3 people we know so far that have been able to get vaccinated. A couple my wife went to college with and my friend in Mt. Shasta. The couple my wife went to college with went to Dodger STadium to get their first vaccine and my friend in Mt. Shasta drove to Yreka to the county Fairgrounds to get his a few weeks ago now.

Where I live they are still vaccinating 1st responders of all kinds and over 75 years olds so the designation of my wife and I which is 65 to 74 isn't being vaccinated yet unless they are in a rest home where people are more vulnerable to covid because of workers there.

So, I was realizing that buying a Camper isn't financially practical because everything is changing really fast now that vaccines are changing the landscape so much in people older than 65 nationwide and in regard to 1st responders or people in food service (growing, moving or selling) nationwide.

However, just because you are over 65 maybe nationwide you might still be a carrier. So, you don't really want to visit your children and grandchildren until at the very least your children get vaccinated too so they are protected in case you are a carrier of the virus because I think you can still carry the virus even if you are vaccinated (not completely sure about this) because there are so many unknown things at this point.

But, as you can see here in the U.S. things are changing very fast from where they were.

And we might all be able to get boosters to cover us from Variants worldwide like the South African, the Brazilian and the UK Variant by this summer hopefully too!
