I just realized this in the last couple of weeks. I have vowed to myself a year ago to be strong for my wife and family and friends. Because I'm tall and somewhat quiet at times people have always relied upon me to be strong for them, whether it was my friends growing up, or my parents later in life or my kids and family along the way I have always had to be strong for them.
But, when I think about it realistically men really aren't designed for being strong for long periods of time. Women are actually much better at this than men are. Men are usually better at being strong for a few days or a few months at most and then the stresses can start to break a man because we are designed mostly to defend our families from harm.
If you have studied genetics and survival of the fittest and human evolution those who survived to breed, women had to survive childbirth and men had to survive whoever attacked their families. This is who survived for hundreds of thousands of years in human kind.
So, women are designed for longer term stress than men are. Men are designed genetically to defend their families against all comers.
If you understand that this is the genetics of all of us who have survived the last several hundred thousand years it gives you an insight into who we actually are as human beings.
I was realizing this the other day and realized I didn't have it to make another vow to myself to survive another year being "Tough".
What I realized is that everything is starting to really change fast now and I need to see this all as a moment to moment thing now. So, ONE DAY AT A TIME! is how we all get through this by studying how all this is changing locally and nationally and internationally.
One day at a time and one moment at a time while observing all the changes and taking these changes in is how we all are going to survive all this not by being tough because just moving forward one moment at a time might be all we have left.
