Because it becomes a part of the companies propaganda of keeping that company in business. There are many many more people who advocate freedom of voting than not in this county. So, all their employees will support this mostly and all of their customers (for the most part will support this too). So, companies advocating voting rights likely will tend to make more money and have even more company loyalty simply because they operate in cities mostly which would be more supportive of voting rights than out in the country where people are more conservative would be.
However, this also creates a sort of culture war between the country conservatives and the more educated city dwellers too. So, I'm not sure how all this will turn out either. However, with an informed electorate that is better educated businesses likely will do better in the short and long term too. So, from a business standpoint this is a win win situation both regarding their employees and also their customers both in the short term and in the long term.
So, I would expect this both to continue and to increase as more companies realize this and take various stances regarding human rights here in the U.S. and this might also spread all over the world in democracies too.
