On Thursday, Indonesian authorities reported nearly 57,000 new cases, the highest daily total yet — seven times as many as a month earlier. On Friday, they reported a record 1,205 deaths, bringing the country’s official toll from the pandemic to more than 71,000.

So, Indonesia appears to be the Covid epicenter right now on earth.
The problem with any large population becoming an epicenter is that it is also more likely new variants will be created when this happens too.
Even though immunologists say that it is in more remote areas where variants usually occur it also makes it more likely that someone with a compromised immune system will get it in a city and then take it to somewhere remote and this will develop into another variant. So, people with things like AIDS or other immunocompromised systems then transmit the new variant in their bodies to others before they die. This is how new variants actually come about and then spread all over the world like the UK variant, the Brazil Variant, the South African Variant and now the Delta and Delta Plus variants from India.
IT is the Delta and Delta Plus variants that are now killing the most amounts of people all over the world right now and are at least twice as contagious as the original virus from about 1 year ago now.
