There were 159,000 plus people who tested positive for Covid yesterday in the U.S.

So, this appears to be a time to hunker down nationwide simply because of how dangerous it is here in the U.S. especially in southern States right now. It looks like doctors were right that we might reach 200,000 infections tested every day by the end of August and the beginning of September. The deaths are much lower than last winter though because the over 50 age group is vaccinated at a rate of 85% on average nationwide now. So, the deaths presently are in the 550 range on average per day now up from the 330 range a week ago. So, the deaths might get close to 1000 a week before this surge dies down. I'm not sure what to expect because Delta and Delta Plus are a completely different type of virus in some ways than the one last winter from the UK and Brazil and South Africa.

The main difference is all the children infected from zero to 12 especially in the south. I would never send my child to public school at this point anywhere in the South or actually anywhere in the U.S. right now. It just isn't safe enough to do that until they can legally get vaccinated. 94,000 zero to 12 year olds infected  yesterday but 4.1 million children infected in the U.S. since the beginning of this thing a year and a half ago.
