What is the single thing that will kill the most human beings this century?
Winds of 200 to 300 mph.
This is the most easy question for me to answer.
Why?
Because once winds get above 100 mph in intensity and stay there people start flying through the air upon the wind if they are not tied to something.
One of the next phases which we haven't seen yet is days and days ongoing of winds above 100 mph where signs, shards of window glass, limbs from trees, aluminum sheets of roofing and some boards and sticks fly through the air ongoing for days at a time.
Just like the flooding of Louisiana up through New York you notice that most people died in the North East. Why is this? Because they totally were not prepared for what they got. It had never happened before.
So, the highest losses of life from storms in the future will likely be when people aren't prepared simply because nothing like this has ever happened before there.
It sort of started in Tennessee with rains beyond belief washing away cars and trucks and throwing them through homes and businesses there. People weren't prepared for this either because it had never happened before and at least 25 people died.
The same will be true when winds start staying above 100 mph for days at a time too various places around the world.
The first time these things happen (like the Subways flooding in China and in New York City) it's pretty scary and people might die.
However, after this happens once people (that survive) adapt and begin to know what to do to survive these things.
The future will be like this too.
