Estrada Fire: Evacuation orders lifted as crews gain ground
Fire crews have made progress on the Estrada Fire burning in Santa Cruz County.
Cal Fire says containment has grown to 35% and 148 acres have burned.
In a tweet from Cal Fire CZU, the updated numbers come from accurate ground truthing and mapping completed today.
Firefighters will continue to work through the night to establish strong control lines.
The fire started Friday, October 16, on Hazel Dell Road near Hidden Canyon Road after a prescribed burn at Estrada Ranch jumped containment lines.
Firefighters used favorable weather conditions to get some containment on the fire.
Evacuation orders near Mt. Madonna County Park were downgraded to warnings Saturday at noon.

- Zones PAJ-E001, PAJ-E002, PAJ-E003, PAJ-E007, near Mt. Madonna County Park.

An evacuation warning that was previously in place for Zone CRZ-E046 (Summit Area) was also lifted Saturday.
In a tweet, Cal Fire urged people to avoid the fire area and surrounding roads to allow residents to return home and for crews working on the fire.
