Where is Starman? Track Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster in Space!

On February 6, 2018, at 2045 UTC, the first Falcon Heavy was launched into space. It contained a very special payload- a Tesla Roadster with Starman.

Adventures of Starman!

But where is this vehicle? The current location is 234,620,798 miles (377,585,690 km, 2.524 AU, 20.99 light minutes) from Earth, moving away from Earth at a speed of 2,791 mi/h (4,492 km/h, 1.25 km/s).

The car is 198,175,312 miles (318,932,348 km, 2.132 AU, 17.73 light minutes) from Mars, moving toward the planet at a speed of 17,498 mi/h (28,160 km/h, 7.82 km/s).

The car is 147,518,523 miles (237,408,124 km, 1.587 AU, 13.20 light minutes) from the Sun, moving toward the star at a speed of 7,767 mi/h (12,501 km/h, 3.47 km/s).

The car has exceeded its 36,000 mile warranty 54,992.5 times while driving around the Sun, (1,979,728,523 miles, 3,186,065,205 km, 21.30 AU) moving at a speed of 47,342 mi/h (76,190 km/h, 21.16 km/s). The orbital period is about 557 days.

It has achieved a fuel economy of 15,712.1 miles per gallon (6,679.9 km/liter, 0.01497 liters/100 km), assuming 126,000 gallons of fuel.

If the battery was still working, Starman has listened to Space Oddity 398,174 times since he launched in one ear, and to Is there Life On Mars? 536,523 times in his other ear.

Starman has completed about 2.6311 orbits around the Sun since launch.

A telescope about 55,416 ft (16,891 m) in diameter would be required to resolve the Upper stage from Earth. A smaller one could see him as an unresolved dot, about 106.5 ft (32.5 m) in diameter, in ideal conditions.

The vehicle has traveled far enough to drive all of the world’s roads 49.6 times.

It has been 4 years, 4 days, 4 hours, 3 minutes and 48 seconds since launch.
