Where I live on the coast it is very paradoxical in that the hotter it gets inland away from the coast the colder it tends to get where I live on the northern California coast. For example, last night it said that the high today here would be around 65 degrees but then it got much hotter inland than expected (including death valley) and the high temperature was reduced about 5 degrees. So, that also meant the lows last night went down to about 52 degrees as well. Then on top of this drizzle and fog off the ocean coated the trees and out back deck with water during the night so the water on the deck is only now starting to evaporate. So, what happens here during the summer is often the opposite of what is happening inland or:
As Mark Twain once said: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco!"
