Sometimes
Medications
Can Kill
Sometimes
they save your lives
So, Balance is how you survive to old age.
However, finding that balance can be difficult as you age.
I have a friend who only takes one medication for pernicious anemia
Most of you wouldn't consider this a medicine but instead a vitamin.
However, B12 is both a vitamin and a medicine for many people.
Why?
Because as many people reach 40 or 50 their stomachs cannot process B12 from meat and other things.
But, without B12 your brain cannot function right and it is one of the causes of senile dementia and likely Alzheimers in older adults. Because without B12 your brain cannot function right.
So, by taking a subligual (under the tongue) B12 from trader Joe's or by getting regular B12 shots from your doctor you can keep your brain working better into old age.
However, this isn't why my friend takes it though this is likely helpful on this level too.
No. He takes it because he is a lifelong vegetarian and pernicious anemia is one of the results of a life of being a vegetarian in people. Most people prevent anemia by eating meat and fish. But then they get hardening of the arteries from especially pork and steaks over time.
I also was a vegetarian from 1948 until around 1980 when I believed the government was going to collapse so I was sort of a survivalist but I wasn't interested in the guns part of it only storing food in 50 gallon drums that wasn't perishable underground so that we would always have enough food no matter what happened to the government then.
However, what I didn't realize is that we had helped so many nations financially after World war II that they had become fast friends with us. So, when the Viet Nam WAr boondoggle bankrupted our government other nations loaned us money specifically Europe and Japan which allowed the U.S. not to go bankrupt then in the early 1980s.
So, I decided around 1980 because I thought the U.S. government was going to collapse and go bankrupt that I needed to make sure my family had food. So, we bought remote land, 2 1/2 acres in the forests of Mt. Shasta for around 8000 dollars then and I built my family a home where we wouldn't have to pay rent while we lived there only land taxes. This was a good survival idea for my family at the time. However, the government never collapsed because nations we had helped survive after World War II came to our aid and loaned the U.S. enough money to keep going. However, either way I was prepared at that time.
So, we did quite well throughout the 1980s because we had our home built and paid for in the forests of Mt. Shasta at around 4000 feet elevation. The snows could be 7 feet at a time then where our land was so I built an A-Frame in case we weren't there so the roof wouldn't collapse under the snow load of 7 feet or more snow.
Throughout all our lives we all are trying to get the right balance in our lives. If we don't find our balance along the way often we are soon gone from the earth (as in dead). So, finding your balance that allows you to live a life you can stand to live is everything in some ways here on earth.
By God's Grace
