The worst problems would not be hundreds of thousands of people dying from electronic failures it would be the aftermath in the following years

What I mean by this is say if 1 million people died on the event of the solar flare here on earth. This would be bad enough but the aftermath would mean that NOTHING electronic with magnetic media would work ever again that was hit directly by the solar flare and radiation!

In other words the electronics in your car would never work again, the electronics in your solar array on your home would never work again your TVs and DVRs would never work again, your Modem for your Wifi would never work again and possibly your Refrigerators and toasters and microwave. The companies that build everything you own in the U.S. and the power stations equipment would also be fried and gone.

So, literally EVERYTHING electronic in the U.S. would have to be replaced and likely manufactured in a part of the world that wasn't hit by all this.

Then you have to think about all the self defense aspects of all this too for all nations on earth.

Would countries not hit by the Solar Flare take advantage of this moment to prey upon those countries that were hit by the solar flare?

This is likely too.

So, this means the most advanced nations on earth in weaponry would become the most vulnerable in such an event to less advanced more mechanical nations not relying on electronics so much?

This could be what this means.

Also, all satellites in space including GPS satellites would also stop working too along with all electronics on any space stations in space too, so the likelihood of astronauts dying is pretty certain too because their oxygen regeneration equipment wouldn't work anymore along with anything electronic on that space station. And the list goes on and on.
