We had been visiting with a friend about 20 miles away from us. But he is inland from where we live within a mile of the ocean. So, our dog went with us on this visit but needed a walk even though it was going to be windy and cold.
However, then the wind was blowing so hard (35 miles per hour with 45 miles per hour gusts) it was going to blow my Glacier national Park baseball cap off my head so I left it in the car. But, the problem was I was the only person within several miles outside without a hood or wool cap then along the ocean. So then, I was worried I was going to get an ear ache from the cold winds off the ocean. So, finally I put my finger in my ear to keep out the cold wind from giving me an ear ache and didn't walk quite as far as I would have on a less windy day or earlier in the day. I can still feel the wind in my left ear but luckily because I put my finger in my left ear canal I haven't gotten a full blown ear ache so I think I'm going to be okay tonight. But, my dog just seemed happy to be outside on a walk along the beach and smelling anything green or flowery along the ocean. She was invigorated by being there and likely more suited to being there closer to the ground than I was.
